The Paving Heavy Structures Engineer is responsible for designing, validating, and managing structural components for paving machines and related heavy structures. This role ensures compliance with engineering standards, supports manufacturing readiness, and drives structural integrity and durability across all paving products.
Design & Analysis
• Develop structural designs for heavy paving components using advanced CAD/CAE tools.
• Perform static and dynamic analysis to meet strength, durability, and safety requirements.
• Ensure compliance with global engineering standards and specifications.
Validation & Testing
• Create and execute robust test plans for structural components.
• Conduct laboratory and field tests to validate design performance under real-world conditions.
• Analyze test data and implement design improvements as needed.
Project Management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, supply chain, quality) to ensure timely delivery of components.
• Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction) programs and provide structural expertise during design reviews.
• Maintain documentation for design changes, control plans, and quality standards.
Quality & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to material specifications and process standards.
• Support root cause analysis for structural failures and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for structural performance and cost optimization.
Technical Leadership
• Mentor junior engineers on structural design principles and best practices.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and materials for heavy structures.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
Experience: 3–5 years in structural design and validation for heavy equipment or paving machinery.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools (e.g., Creo, ANSYS).
• Knowledge of mechanics of materials, welding standards, and fatigue analysis.
• Familiarity with control plans and quality assurance processes.
Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Experience with paving machine structures and global manufacturing practices.
• Exposure to NPI processes and CPI changes.
• Knowledge of industry standards for heavy structures and safety compliance.
• Deliver robust structural designs that meet durability and cost targets.
• Ensure timely validation and release of components for production.
• Drive efficiency and innovation in structural engineering processes.
