Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled contractor with experience in annotating high-definition (HD) maps using tools such as JOSM or similar map annotation software. The role will focus on creating detailed lane-level maps to support autonomous vehicle navigation and other projects. The contractor will work closely with our engineering team to ensure the quality and accuracy of annotated maps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Annotate HD maps, including road boundaries, lane markings, and regulatory elements using JOSM or similar map annotation tools.

  • Correct and update map elements such as linestrings, nodes, lanelets, and relations following established tagging and validation processes.

  • Align aerial imagery with GPS data and correct map offsets.

  • Validate and troubleshoot map data to ensure compliance.

  • Regularly communicate with the internal engineering team to refine map annotation processes and meet project goals.

Deliverables:

  • Accurately annotated HD maps

  • Validation and correction of all map data.

  • Clear documentation of annotation process and tools used.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency with JOSM (Java OpenStreetMap Editor) or other HD map annotation tools.

  • Experience working with developing HD maps for Autonomous Vehicle industry and understanding of lane-level HD maps.

  • Familiarity working with Lanelet2

  • Familiarity with map tagging, aerial imagery alignment, and GPS offset correction.

  • Ability to follow technical documentation and implement established processes for map creation and validation.

  • Experience with version control tools (Git) to manage map data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in HD map creation for autonomous vehicles or aviation.

  • Experience working with open-source mapping projects such as OpenStreetMap.

  • Experience with Linux and Git
