Algolia has an immediate opening for an UX/Website Strategist reporting to the Director, Digital Marketing. As a leader in the Search and Discovery industry, we aim to deliver exceptional digital experiences through strategic user-centered design and optimization. As part of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience across our digital presence. We are looking for a skilled UX/Web Strategist who can create data-driven strategies, optimize user journeys, and enhance overall website experience.

The UX/Web Strategist is responsible for defining and optimizing user personas, crafting user-centered journeys, and ensuring that the structure and design of our website meet both business goals and user needs. This role involves user research, competitor analysis, human-centered design, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive and high-performing website experiences. You will be an advocate for the user, translating research findings into actionable website structure and design improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimization of Persona/User-Based Journeys: Analyze and refine user journeys, ensuring each step is optimized for engagement, satisfaction, and conversion. Act as an advocate for our users and build empathy across Algolia.
  • Persona Definition: Work with internal Research & Insights team to develop and maintain detailed user personas based on user research, analytics, and business goals to inform website strategy and design decisions.
  • Website Structure & Hierarchy Planning: Design the overall website structure and information hierarchy to improve navigation, usability, and user experience.
  • User Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive user research, including methods such as surveys, A/B testing observation studies, interviews, usability testing, etc., to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points. Analyze findings to inform design and optimization decisions. 
  • Landing Page Prototypes: Create wireframes and prototypes for landing pages that prioritize usability and a seamless user experience, working closely with designers and developers to bring concepts to life.
  • Competitor Research and Analysis: Conduct ongoing competitor analysis to identify trends, benchmarks, and opportunities for improvement within the user experience and design.
  • User Interface Design & Usability Testing: Collaborate with designers to create intuitive user interfaces and lead usability testing to ensure designs are functional, user-friendly, and aligned with user needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in UX design, user research, web strategy, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles (color theory, typography, layout), information architecture (web structure), and best practices.
  • Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, …) creating mock-ups to visualize user flows and interactions on a website.
  • Ability and proven experience in conducting interviews, surveys, usability testing and analyzing research to understand user pain points and needs.
  • Familiarity with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Amplitude…) to measure and optimize user journeys.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and marketers.
  • Must be located in US Eastern or Central Time Zone

Preferred Skills and Background:

  • Knowledge of basic front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, Javascript, …) is a plus.
  • Experience in competitor benchmarking and industry analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, brilliant interpersonal skills, and be ‘culturally-aware’
  • Enormous energy and a sense of humor.

The annual base salary compensation range for this role reflects US market pay data within this location. The exact compensation offered for this role may vary depending on specific location and job-related knowledge, technical skills, and experience; and is only one part of our Total Rewards philosophy to compensate and recognize employees for their work.

Remote US: Base Salary Pay Range
$120,000$152,000 USD
