Role Definition:

Manages the planning, organization and implementation of more complex programs.  The SAP S4 Program manager will be responsible for the successful implementation of SAP S/4 Hana projects within in our organization to bring our production facilities the latest technologies and production efficiency.
 

What You Will Do:

  • Overseeing project processes and procedures; monitoring the productivity and performance of project team.
  • Managing all aspects of projects.  Setting deadlines, managing budget, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of project.
  • Reviewing and ensuring adherence to project materials, deliverables methodologies and procedures.
  • Preparing and presenting program level reporting for senior leadership.

What You Have:

  • Relevant degree, PMP certification and progressive IT experiences, previous leadership experience in Caterpillar applications or infrastructure.
  • Experienced with SAP in one or more of the functional knowledge, release management, testing management or application development.
  • Several years of project planning and relationship management of multiple workstreams.
  • Experience leading software application cutovers.
  • Knowledge of ASAP methodology.
  • Experience in SAP development, deployment, or optimization.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

  • Provides the right level of detail as input for strategic plan development.
  • Demonstrates the value and necessity of linking tactical plans to overall strategic plan.
  • Ensures attention to the detail and dependencies of existing departmental-level plans.

  • Ensures the planning process is integrated with the overall business plan.

  • Organizes and prioritizes the sequence of steps to be taken to remedy the situation.
  • Identifies many possible causes for a problem based on prior experience and current research.
  • Quantifies the costs, benefits, risks and chances for success before recommending a course of action.
  • Approaches a complex problem by breaking it down into its component parts.
  • Chooses among a diverse set of analytical tools according to the nature of the situation.


Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Shifts focus among several efforts as required by changing priorities.
  • Addresses potential conflicts that impact current delivery commitments.

  • Manages multiple high-risk, high-cost projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Coaches others in open communication among project stakeholders.
  • Monitors major projects for critical path and actual status versus planned.
  • Consults on project planning and management of high-risk, high-impact projects.
  • Monitors industry for fresh approaches and tools for project management.  
  • Degree or equivalent experience desired

  • This position requires you to work in the office three times a week, with some flexibility.
