The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and assisting in the management of human resources, health and wellness, and safety policies. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting operational excellence, and cultivating a positive work environment, while leading HR initiatives that drive enhanced performance, employee engagement, and overall organizational efficiency. This role ensures that HR and safety operations align with both corporate objectives and regulatory standards.

What You Will Do at Graco

Human Resources and Employee Relations

  • Assist in the development, interpretation, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Manage employee relations activities and maintain a positive work environment through effective communication.
  • Collaborate with leadership and management teams to understand business needs and deliver HR solutions that support overall business objectives.
  • Partner with management to drive employee engagement initiatives, communication strategies, and performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development plans.
  • Assist in managing the investigation process, handling disciplinary actions, and facilitating conflict resolution by providing coaching as needed, while ensuring compliance with local and global labor laws.
  • Lead the creation, development, and implementation of employee training programs, maintaining training records to meet evolving business needs.

 Talent Management and Recruiting

  • Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies for all roles within the assigned business group, focusing on manager level support.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment and hiring process for professional roles, non-exempt positions and factory staff, including pre-employment and onboarding processes.
  • Revise and maintain up to date job descriptions.
  • Act as the key company representative for local community relations and establish a strong organizational presence.

Safety and Compliance

  • Implement and monitor OSHA required safety practices, including delivery of all required OSHA compliance training.
  • Support supervisors in incident and near-miss reporting, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain OSHA injury records, including OSHA 300 Log updates.
  • Administer Worker’s Compensation claims in coordination with the Risk Management and Occupational Safety departments.
  • Manage facility Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and collaborate with the Environmental Specialist on chemical tracking and approvals.
  • Coordinate all hazardous waste manifest documentation and disposal compliance for the facility.
  • Conduct health, safety and industrial hygiene audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene analysis for workplace areas as needed.
  • Implement and coordinate facility health and wellness programs.

HR Analytics and Reporting

  • Leverage HR dashboard to utilize HR metrics and analytics to provide insights and recommendations on workforce trends, engagement, and other key HR indicators.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to management on HR activities, challenges, successes, and areas for improvement.

What You Will Bring to Graco

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible manufacturing-based Human Resources roles.
  • Experience in implementing and managing safety and hazard prevention programs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws, state worker’s compensation statutes.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other occupational health and safety standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization. Expertise in training and facilitation.
  • Experience in managing employee relations issues and performance management processes.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated diplomacy and confidentiality when handling sensitive situations.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with HR metrics and data-driven decision-making.
