Position Title: Financial Systems (FP& A) Analyst

Department: Finance

Reports To: Director of Finance

FLSA Status: Full-time/Salaried/Exempt

Position Summary:

Legends Global, the leader in managing public assembly facilities, is seeking a Financial Systems Analyst (or Finance Manager) for the Salt Palace Convention Center and Mountain America Exposition Center. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is equally focused on financial planning & analysis (FP&A) and the modernization of financial systems through automation, data engineering, and advanced analytics.

Under the guidance of the Director of Finance, this position plays a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, pricing strategy, and capital planning, while also leading initiatives to automate workflows, enhance reporting infrastructure, and improve business intelligence capabilities. The role bridges finance and systems, ensuring accurate financial insights while building scalable, technology-driven solutions that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency across both venues. Occasional travel between the two venues within Salt Lake County is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Support the annual budgeting process for both venues, partnering with department leaders to develop detailed revenue and expense projections.

• Maintain rolling forecasts and structured financial models to monitor performance against budget.

• Prepare, analyze, and interpret monthly financial statements, including variance analysis and actionable performance insights.

• Conduct pricing and profitability analysis for rental rates, services, and ancillary revenue streams using quantitative methodologies.

• Support long-range planning and capital allocation analysis, including scenario modeling and financial projections.

• Track and report on Capital Improvement Project (CIP) budgets and expenditures, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency.

Financial Systems & Automation

• Design, build, and maintain automated financial reporting workflows using SQL, Python, and other data tools.

• Identify and eliminate manual processes through scripting, workflow automation, and system integration.

• Develop scalable data pipelines and structured datasets to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.

• Design and maintain dashboards and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to support operational and financial visibility.

• Perform ETL processes and manage financial data architecture to support forecasting, pricing strategy, and performance analysis.

• Research, evaluate, and implement AI-driven solutions and automation tools to modernize legacy systems and enhance cross-functional workflows.

Cross-Functional & Strategic Initiatives

• Collaborate with accounting, operations, sales, and executive leadership to align financial insights with operational strategy.

• Assist in the development and documentation of finance and accounting policies, ensuring compliance with company standards and financial regulations.

• Lead or support special projects focused on process improvement, operational efficiency, and systems enhancement.

Experience & Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting information systems, computer science, mathematics, data science, or a related quantitative field.

• Strong understanding of FP&A concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python required or strongly preferred.

• Experience building dashboards, working with structured datasets, and automating workflows.

• Demonstrated ability to develop financial models, analytical tools, reporting systems, or automation solutions.

• Strong quantitative reasoning, financial acumen, and systems-thinking mindset.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive projects independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Comfortable collaborating with leadership, colleagues, clients, exhibitors, and attendees.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, In-Office

Salary: $60,000- $80,000 per year depending on experience

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9 am-5pm, some evenings, weekends, and holidays required, some travel required
