Position summary:

The program manager is responsible for stewarding critical enterprise investments and driving the delivery of strategic and transformational change by providing leadership and direction to assigned programs.

Essential duties & responsibilities: (detailed description)

  • Provide overall program leadership, guidance, and manage all aspects of a given program, including requirements gathering, business case creation, and implementation
  • Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines common to a rapidly growing company with an evolving business model.
  • Develop resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and for the day-to-day operational activities
  • Proactively set performance expectations and help project managers and subordinates manage expectations of delivery and requirements, yielding consistent results
  • Review program budget variance and scope change requests, and participate in the budget-resolution process
  • Ensure that the scope of the projects within the program align with business priorities
  • Manage program-level risks and interdependencies
  • Promote collaboration and coordination across broad categories of stakeholders
  • Lead cross-functional meetings and foster teamwork; drive escalation and resolution of issues
  • Address escalated resourcing issues with project manager and resource manager, as needed
  • Support and coach project managers within the program
  • Provide technical expertise in planning, execution, and leadership of program, projects, and initiatives
  • Provide program reporting and status to senior management
  • Maintain excellent relationships with all levels of the matrix organization
  • Create funding requests, forecast, monitor and report on project financials, and maintain financials in project management tools
  • Liaise with the supplier management groups as needed on supplier engagement, quality of services, experience and cost 
  • Ensure all projects meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in business case
  • Assist, share learning, and mentor others within the PMO regarding standards, organizational understanding, and relationship building to promote the successful delivery of projects

Education & special training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • PMP certification required
  • Six-Sigma or related experience a plus

Qualifications & experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience is required
  • Extensive record of successfully planning and delivering complex projects
  • Experience managing remote project teams
  • Expertise in Microsoft Project and other project management tools
  • Demonstrated experience in full project management lifecycle for software/maintenance/ development/ implementation projects and IT methodologies (ITIL)
  • Experience with projects in multiple technologies and functions; demonstrated experience managing customer relationships

Travel Percentage: 10%
