The Destruction Operations Technician is responsible for the secure processing and destruction of customer materials while ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and quality. The role is primarily production-based and involves operating destruction equipment, sorting materials, and maintaining the production facility. When required, the technician will also provide support to warehouse and records management operations to ensure the efficient running of the facility.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process and securely destroy customer materials according to company procedures.
  • Empty containers, open bags, and prepare materials for destruction.
  • Sort materials and remove non-processable waste.
  • Operate shredding equipment, forklifts, and other production machinery safely.
  • Maintain the security and chain of custody of customer materials.
  • Clean and maintain production equipment and work areas.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report or assist with minor repairs.
  • Follow all Health & Safety, Security, and Quality procedures.
  • Support warehouse operations, including the movement, storage, and retrieval of records and materials, when operational needs require.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and assist with other operational duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform manual handling and physical work.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to security procedures.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious.
  • Clean criminal record.
