Job Description and Responsibilities

 

EVRAZ NA is seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to join the Canadian Safety team based in Regina. This is a vital role dedicated to fostering a culture of safety and compliance across our operations. This position plays a critical part in ensuring that all safety protocols are rigorously followed and continuously improved, aligning with our commitment to protecting our workforce and maintaining industry-leading standards.

 

  • Audit and report on department safety programs to ensure employee safety and compliance with OH&S legislation/regulations and EVRAZ Safety programs
  • Control and manage Canadian safety policies and procedures
  • Development and stewardship of Canadian Safety plan and Safety Performance reporting
  • Coordinate and provide general support to safety committee activities
  • Contract Management for Canadian Operations Safety Team accountable contracts
  • Provide technical safety support to all department personnel
  • Assist in environmental issues and compliance, as needed

 

Requirements

 

  • Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner Certificate or greater
  • 3-5 years experience in industrial safety
  • Knowledge of Canadian and regional safety codes and practices
  • Ability to build and grow relationships with a customer service mindset
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to organize and motivate teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
