Job Description:
NOTE: This is not a remote or hybrid role. This person will work onsite, every day, with the exception of being at the customer site.
Job Summary:
As the Instructor for Flexrotor Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), the primary responsibilities are to conduct classroom, practical flight and simulation instruction in both formal and field environments. Instructors are expected to be proficient Flexrotor operators. They will support the creation and updating of training modules, conduct instructional sessions, and evaluate trainee competency in Flexrotor UAS.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Academic Instruction and Subject Matter Support (60%):
Under the supervision of the HO Training or Sr. Instructor to deliver classroom instruction using approved teaching methods and materials.
Serve as a subject matter resource on Flexrotor UAS operations.
Assign student work, administer formal and informal student assessments, perform remedial instruction and complete daily student records and other required documentation.
2. Training Delivery and Resource Coordination (25%):
Assist in the updating of training modules and materials for Flexrotor UAS operation, covering simulator, academic, and field instruction.
Conduct training sessions encompassing briefing, simulator events, and debriefing sessions.
Identifies and schedules training resources to include facilities, hardware/equipment, and flight time availability. Verifies that all resources and daily training content is compliant with contractual and regulatory requirements.
3. Curriculum Execution and Compliance (5%):
Execute and maintain flight training syllabuses, student records, and courseware requirements.
Assist in scheduling and allocating necessary training resources, including facilities and equipment.
Review class rosters, students training records and courseware requirements. Determines daily instructional needs/objectives and adjusts content and delivery as necessary.
4. Assessment and Evaluation (5%):
Administer assessments to evaluate trainee performance in theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and flight proficiency.
Support the certification of trainees upon successful completion of the training, ensuring adherence to learning objectives and standards.
5. Continuous Improvement and Feedback Integration (5%):
Gather and analyze feedback from trainees to identify areas for continuous improvement in the training program.
Propose adjustments to training content and delivery methods based on feedback and evolving requirements to enhance training effectiveness.
Obtain real-time student feedback and adjust delivery to meet training objectives.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Minimum of five(5) years of directly related experience in aviation training or similar roles.

Basic Computer Networking, to include Changing Adapter Settings, and General and Specific IP Address configuration.
Licensure/Certifications:

Ability to obtain FAA Part 107 within 6 months of hire

Complexity of the Role:
This position involves multiple layers of complexity, requiring the Training Instructor to focus on the effective delivery and execution of training programs.
Level of Decision Making:
Operational Decision-Making: The Training Instructor will be involved in day-to-day decisions related to curriculum execution, resource coordination, and adapting training delivery methods based on student needs. This involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and operational procedures.
Supportive Role in Strategy: The Instructor supports the Senior Instructor and leadership in decisions regarding program updates and resource needs but does not have primary responsibility for strategic forecasting or program development.
Interface Management: The Training Instructor interfaces with various internal and external stakeholders, including other instructors, trainees, and customers.

Job Dimensions:
Customer Demonstrations and Training: Participate in ground and flight instruction/training for customer personnel to demonstrate the capabilities of Flexrotor UAS.
Documentation Support: Assist in updating flight manuals and training courseware, preparing monthly flight logs, and preparing required pre-flight/post-flight documentation.
Flight Operations: Conduct flight training as an instructor pilot with transition and recurrent students, evaluating maneuvers and procedures. Conduct operational and demonstration flights as a proficient Flexrotor operator to support production, maintenance, and customer demonstration requirements, as schedule allows. Stay updated on new or modified systems, instrumentation, or equipment installed on the aircraft.
Nature of Contacts
This position required mature and articulate communication and interaction with senior levels of management professionals both inside and outside of Airbus. Involved, negotiation-type communication daily with internal and external parties.
Physical Requirements:
Onsite or remote: 85% Onsite.
Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily.
Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms daily.
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily.
Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts daily.
Carrying/Lifting: able to carry/lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs daily.
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools daily.
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer daily.
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving occasionally.
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice several times a month.
Walking: (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily.

Salary range: Based on the required profile: $81,858.00 - $130,858.00 per year, depending on the candidate's experience. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
