We are looking for an energetic, ambitious, goals-centric individual with strong work ethic and integrity to join us as a DRAM Lead of Resolution Enhancement Techniques (RET) team, as part of the Advanced Mask Development (AMD) group under the Technology Development (TD) department. The team has deep understanding of RET methodologies and Optical Proximity Correction (OPC), and work side-by-side with the Recipe and Tool Development (RTD) team which is also part of AMD group. In this role, you will need to work collaboratively with Process Integration, Photolithography and CAD groups to optimize reticle solutions with production-worthy wafer patterning fidelity. You will lead groundbreaking RET solutions, resolve important patterning issues, investigate creative tapeout flows, and introduce innovative software functions and applications to the AMD group. In addition, you will consistently engage with teams in Design, Device, CAD, Tapeout and Systems to integrate an effective and efficient tapeout flow for not only pilot parts but also derivative parts throughout the life span of each node of sophisticated memory products.

Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Supervision: Work without considerable direction. Exert significant latitude in collectively determining objectives of assignment for AMD group. Drives a steady stream of sophisticated projects with built-in contingency plans. Sustained performance with multiple critical projects through close collaboration with sister teams.
  • Application: Frequently contribute to the development of new theories, concepts, and methods. Act as an expert in the field and be recognized as such by peers. Key role in implementing fix across the department functions. Successful execution of worldwide strategic projects.
  • Project Scope: Projects are executed within the area and module. Use cross-functional knowledge and skill to address R&D and HVM Fabs issues. Sought out by other functional groups or fabs to help solving issues. Must understand product from design through customer qual and issues associated with it, and drive resolution of issues.
  • Skill Level: Use extensive technical knowledge to guide strategic directions, interpret customer needs, and communicate clearly the needs to internal and external contacts. Create new capabilities/approaches to improve quality and/or efficiency, where the contribution is acknowledged and copied by sister teams. Guide managers and leaders in creating capabilities. Advanced skills to enable creation of new systems.
  • Vision: Identify alternate technologies. Recognize opportunities and provide feedback to sister teams and/or peer groups for technical innovation. Able to completely revolutionize a Business Practice within an area based on industry research and company needs. Anticipates and collaboratively addresses issues based on insight, experience and knowledge.
  • Mentoring junior staff with results.

Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • 3+ years of leading technical teams in reticle development in the semiconductor industry, preferably with direct input on data correction from design and layout to improve printability of the process.
  • Proven track records in collaboration across multiple teams and groups with strong verbal/written communication, effective interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong knowledge in RET/OPC theory, including optics, diffraction, phase shifting and resist modeling. Experienced with 248 nm, 193 nm and 193 nm immersion lithography.
  • Experience with photolithography simulation packages, such as Sentaurus Litho, ProLith, etc.
  • Experience with software packages developed by EDA vendors (Synopsys, Siemens, Brion, Cadence, etc.), preferably in the areas of assist feature design, OPC empirical model creation and lithography simulations.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, UNIX, and some experience with programming languages (Perl/C/C++/TCL/Python).
  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing, the structure and function of memory devices, emerging technology, and lithography.
  • The ability to be highly motivated, goal oriented, and to actively focus on solving problems both in a team setting and individually.
