Job Description Summary
This strategic role presents a unique opportunity to have enterprise-wide global impact for Gas Power and GE Vernova in critical business problem-solving and as the architect of the longer-term next gen supply chain view for sustainable operational and competitive excellence.
This leader will function as a change agent and shape and optimize all aspects of the Global Generator Supply Chain, Make and Buy on Units and all components, across all factories and suppliers via strategic decision-making. The focus will be on Future-State Make-Buy landscape, footprint, technology, and capacity decisions for key business priorities and impact including delivery, quality, NPI, lead time, cost, and margin for new units and services needs.
The scope includes macro product & process strategy, process strategy, capability assessments on core vs non-core scopes, cost-structures of factories, capacity assessment and alignment to the GPF (DMR, SMR) for customer cut-ins and needs and constant creative gap-solving as part of fulfillment challenges via Make v Buy or transfers or investment for growth. This leader will be the architect of the L1 North Star Strategy and also lead the Supply Chain Strategy Review Board (SCSRB)…the sole GSC Board to make decisions on shifts, pivots and make v buy with a comprehensive plan around MOC, Risk Matrices, financial modeling, and a detailed cut-in execution plan. The leader in this space should have the ability to lead, foster and drive collaboration of global cross-functional teams including factories, materials, sourcing, internal customers (HDNU, Services), quality, product line, and engineering to continue to deliver high impact.
This role also involves ideating, leading and driving specific high-level make vs buy commodity strategy technology, product, configuration, standardization decisions including the optimal locations of value chains for customer impact, the technologies and inventory strategies to optimize SQDC principles. It drives a customer-centric approach to achieve maximum impact for the business via gap solving, technology, supply chain, and geographical diversification, vertical integration, laminar flow, value stream simplification and part standardization. This leader would be a key partner on new technology introduction cycles collaborating with Commercial, Services, Product Line and Engineering to ensure the supply chain can deliver competitive value and provide flexibility to support the overall product strategy of the business.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead a customer-centric GSC commodity strategy that is optimized around an SQDC driven value chain.
- Make decisions and execute actions via Daily Management and Std Work: L1-L4 approach from Commodity Strategy to leadership reviews and Core team alignments
- The scope would include all activities related to Generator GFA and components made internally/externally for new units and services
- Active awareness and collaboration with partner teams on shifts in technology (from technical teams), and forecasts (from the customer and materials teams) to ensure adaptability of the supply chain to the changing dynamics
- In-scope is also the need to be closely tied out with the Generators Repairs & CMNU strategy and life extensions to understand the overall impact on the supply chain, margin to the business, and the ability to leverage synergies and capabilities to deliver the impact
- Work collaboratively with team members, stakeholders and leaders in SCD, HDNU, Services, Materials, Sourcing, Factories, Product Line, Industrialization, and Engineering to pull together cross-functional evaluations and solutions for the Global Supply Chain Strategy Review Board
- Perform and refresh detailed, process mapping of global value chains, factories/supplier core competencies, capabilities, capacities, and gaps to meet business needs and constantly improve the status quo
- Align capacity plans to SiOP/GPF needs for New Units and Services and problem solve using the SMR, MBR
- Outline all Capex and Opex needs for various growth scenarios using the Std .Make-Buy strategy (SCSRB) + Fast Track
- Create some baseline scenarios to handle constraints and gap alleviation via investment, kaizen, or a make-buy balance
- Lead a data-driven comprehensive Make vs Buy/ROI evaluation and a decision-making BOARD (SCSRB) with Senior leaders from cross-functional organizations on critical KPIs to make, memorialize, monitor, execute and measure
- Responsible for rigor around SCSRB multi-Gate Reviews timing, content and decision to ensure sustainability
- Drive make-buy allocation strategy for the business in line with SQDC
- Level 1 Project management of any transfers or other critical initiatives
- Evaluate any emerging change, breakthrough, or disruptor to a currently established value chain/router/capability/NPI.
- Ensure technology preparation of the supply chain in conjunction with Industrialization, engineering and understand the impact of cost-curves to technology curves to lead an analysis to the optimal deployment strategy. Align supply chain capabilities and capacity to forward leans, CAPAs/RCAs, and upcoming NPIs
- Partner with sourcing and materials on inventory strategies for services and commercial needs to optimize lead time.
- Focus on simplification of value chains by combining and consolidating routers and number of supply locations
- Detailed analysis of Global Footprint to optimize and consolidate for this commodity; work with Project managers to outline pitching-catching framework for projects
- Partner on M&A and TTA initiatives as required
- Apply oversight and standard work to all supply chain cost-out projects initiated by other organizations
- As required, support or catalyze negotiations and pivot decisions of sourcing with suppliers to execute strategy
- As required, support development and sharing of forecast and demand plan
- As required, run cross-functional fulfilment projects for special cases like supplier exits
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- At least 6-8 years of overall experience in supply chain or generator product-related functions broadly covering factory, operations, sourcing, materials, services, costing, and fulfilment. Preferred is understanding of broader market space, competition dynamics, technical depth, simple financial modeling experience.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $119,600.00 and $199,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
