Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Staff Product Manager for Design Systems is responsible for advancing the user experience within Scintilla, refining the design and information architecture to accommodate our expanding user base and cross functional partners. As the product lead for this initiative, you will work closely with our Design and Research teams to define a strong product vision, which you will champion and bring to life alongside account managers, technical partners, and cross-functional teams within Data Ventures. This role is based at our Hoboken Hub and reports to the Senior Director of Product, who oversees Horizontal Capabilities for the Scintilla Product Suite. 

 

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you demonstrate 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, proven ability to influence others internally and externally 

  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks), and accessibility standards 

  • Proven track record of launching and managing scalable design systems 

  • Passion for solving complex challenges with a customer centric lens 

  • Test and learn mentality to iterate and improve your team’s products 

  • Experience working with design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar 

 

You’ll make an impact by… 

Establish and evangelize a Product Strategy & Vision 

  • Define and drive the product vision for the Scintilla design system, ensuring it supports the Data Ventures strategy and client needs 

  • Gather feedback from designers, UX researchers, and account management teams to continuously improve the design system. 

  • Define key success metrics that ensure the design systems supports the Scintilla objectives and priorities 

  • Conduct opportunity sizing research and exercises, as well as pricing strategy research to clearly articulate the makeup of competitive or complementary markets/products. 

  • Advocate for best practices in UI/UX, accessibility, and front-end implementation. 

  • Drive adoption from cross functional partners and Scintilla users through documentation, training, and onboarding sessions. 

 

Collaborate and influence Cross-functional Partners and teams 

  • Partner closely with UX Research, Designers, and cross functional product teams to ensure seamless adoption and integration of the design system. 

  • Partner with engineering teams to establish scalable and maintainable design components that support each of the distinct Scintilla capabilities 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding design system updates, priorities, and impact 

 

Drive execution and maintenance 

  • Establish and maintain product requirements based on feedback from UX research, developers, account managers, and cross functional partners 

  • Develop a roadmap to enhance and scale the Scintilla 2.0 sign system while maintaining design consistency across products. 

  • Partner with tech developers to prioritize a healthy backlog and lead sprint planning to ensure a healthy development process 

  • Establish clear governance processes for contributing to, maintaining, and evolving the design system. 

 

Analyze and synthesize success metrics  

  • Create a framework for measuring success of the Scintilla 2.0 design systems 

  • Synthesize user analytics to identify key insights that can help a data driven evolution of the Scintilla 2.0 product vision and priorities 

  • Continuously evaluate industry trends, tools, and best practices to evolve the design system. 

  • Work with engineering teams to optimize component performance, usability, and consistency across platforms. 

 

Qualifications include… 

  • Bachelor's degree required/MBA a plus. 

  • 6+ years in Product Management including at least 2 years of experience working on data products/platforms.  

  • Retail industry experience is a plus. 

  • Quantitative or technical background is preferred. 

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools. 

  • Familiarity with component-based frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular. 

  • Experience conducting usability testing and user research

A product manager for design systems may work with designers, engineers, and other teams to improve design systems and user experience. They may also lead the design systems product team.
