Job Summary

AmeriVet is seeking a dynamic and strategic Early Careers & Talent Acquisition Manager to lead our talent acquisition efforts across both field and corporate roles. This role will oversee a team of recruiters, collaborate cross-functionally with HR systems and operations teams, and drive recruiting strategies that attract top talent while improving time-to-fill and retention metrics. The ideal candidate is both a hands-on recruiter and a team leader, with a strong grasp of Workday Recruiting, reporting, and talent engagement best practices.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Directly manage and mentor a team of three recruiters, fostering development through regular 1:1s, goal setting, performance reviews, and ongoing coaching.

  • Promote a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team culture.

  • Conduct onboarding and training for new team members.

  • Set team recruiting priorities in alignment with organizational goals and hiring forecasts.

  • Partner with HR leadership to ensure best practices in talent acquisition are followed and continuously improved.

  • Establish and track monthly KPIs with both baseline and stretch goals to measure individual and team performance.

Recruiting Responsibilities

Corporate Recruiting

  • Oversee and directly support recruitment for corporate positions across multiple functions (HR, IT, Finance, Marketing, etc.).

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment (screenings, interview coordination, offer letters).

  • Coordinate with hiring managers and department leaders to align on role requirements, candidate experience, and timelines.

  • Ensure consistent employer branding, candidate experience, and internal communication across departments.

  • Build and maintain strong networks within industry verticals to proactively source and engage top-tier talent for corporate roles.

  • Set up and lead monthly meetings with department heads to review hiring forecasts, discuss upcoming needs, align on candidate pipelines, and address hiring challenges or changes in direction.

Campus Recruiting

  • Develop and execute a national campus recruiting strategy to build a diverse early-career talent pipeline.

  • Build relationships with key universities, veterinary schools, and professional student organizations.

  • Coordinate and attend campus events, career fairs, and speaking engagements to promote AmeriVet as an employer of choice.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify externship and entry-level hiring needs.

  • Oversee extern hiring and onboarding processes, and support intern conversion efforts into full-time roles.

  • Track campus recruiting outcomes and continuously refine outreach and engagement strategies.

Hard-to-Fill Support

  • Serve as a sourcing lead for high-priority or hard-to-fill roles, bringing creative outreach, direct sourcing, and passive candidate engagement strategies to the table.

  • Conduct market analysis on hard-to-fill roles—including compensation trends, regional talent availability, and competitor activity—and share insights with internal stakeholders to align on strategy and adjust approach as needed.

  • Partner with hiring managers and department leaders to refine job requirements, candidate profiles, and outreach strategies based on real-time market data.

Data & Reporting

  • Pull and analyze monthly reports from Workday to validate hires and terminations, track pipeline activity, and monitor source performance. Calculate and submit the team’s quarterly bonus information.

  • Establish and maintain reporting dashboards for requisition loads, time-to-fill, candidate flow, and offer acceptance rates.

  • Analyze candidate activity (e.g., stage progression, time in stage, interview ratios) to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Validate field referral submissions by reviewing historical hire data to confirm referral attribution and support applicable referral program processes.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 2 years in a management or lead role

  • Demonstrated success recruiting for both field-based and corporate roles

  • Proven ability to mentor and lead recruiting teams to success

  • Proficiency in Workday Recruiting (or similar ATS), with strong skills in reporting and dashboards

  • Experience designing and implementing campus recruiting or early-career talent programs

  • Experience promoting and managing internal mobility programs

  • Strong communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Veterinary or healthcare experience a plus but not required
