What You Will Do:

  • Maintain a tidy and safe working environment and be safety conscious and comply with the company’s zero tolerance safety culture.
  • Be able and active in making recommendations for improvements to practices and procedures in the warehouse.
  • Be aware of, understand and display all Quality and Safety procedures to ensure high quality product is shipped and received by the customer.
  • Pick and prepare all the chemical orders necessary for customer orders as instructed on the pick slips generated by the logistics group.
  • Unload and store incoming raw materials in the correct location as determined by the warehouse storage plan, based on chemical hazard type.
  • Load and unload customer deliveries and shipments using a forklift via a loading ramp.
  • Correctly sample incoming chemicals/raw materials as required by quality assurance laboratory in a timely manner ensuring that safety and COSHH requirements are adhered to.
  • Responsible for accurate stock control of all order preparation activities and chemicals stored on the warehouse slab.
  • Be fully conversant in all safety/emergency procedures involving the warehouse and know what to do in an incident/emergency.
  • Support the team in other areas helping to cover time of.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • 3 years’ experience in warehouse and transportation area
  • Experienced and qualified forklift truck driver
  • Experience of loading and unloading trucks via a ramp or loading dock
  • Decision making, problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to respond to change or create change
  • Team oriented mindset

Physical Demands:

Role includes manual handling of tools and equipment in the process of banding drums to pallets. This also includes bending and repetitive motion. Requirement to work on a chemical manufacturing site.
