Job Title:

Chaplain-Chaplain Service-Office of Patient Experience-Part Time

Job Summary:

To provide compassionate religious/spiritual support to employees, students, patients and patient family members.

Education & Experience

Master of Divinity from an ATS or regionally accredited institution. A minimum of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education. Experience may not be substituted for educational requirements.

One (1) year of experience as chaplain in a hospital setting.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:  NA.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of philosophical systems and religions. Knowledge of human behavior. Verbal and written communication skills. Active listening skills. Interpersonal communication, and knowledge of ministerial ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Supports end-of-life care for patients by offering pastoral support and guidance to patients and families.
  • Administers religious rites and/or ordinances; prepares and delivers spiritual care services.  
  • Documents spiritual care and counseling of patients and families.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
