Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Test / Integration Engineer to work on challenging, market-leading concepts and next-generation products. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in test automation, system integration testing, and quality engineering across complex, distributed, and cloud-native platforms.

As a senior individual contributor, you will work independently on complex testing and integration scenarios, guide junior engineers, and actively contribute to improving automation frameworks, tooling, and quality processes. You will collaborate closely with developers, architects, DevOps engineers, and product owners to ensure high-quality delivery across APIs, UI, microservices, and platform integrations.

You will represent the test competence within the scrum team, acting as the quality conscience and ensuring that quality is built into the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation & Engineering

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated tests across API, UI, integration, and end-to-end layers.

  • Develop and execute automation using JavaScript / TypeScript /Angular or Java frameworks, aligned with organizational standards.

  • Write high-quality test cases and automation scripts based on functional and technical requirements.

  • Actively contribute to enhancing and stabilizing existing automation frameworks (BDD, API, UI).

  • Apply industry-standard test design techniques to ensure effective and efficient test coverage.

BDD & Framework Usage

  • Implement and maintain BDD-based automation using Cucumber.

  • Contribute to shared test libraries, utilities, and reusable components.

  • Support UI automation using Playwright or equivalent modern UI automation tools.

  • Implement REST API automation using standard API testing toolchains.

  • Ensure automation follows agreed naming conventions, standards, and best practices.

CI/CD, DevOps & Cloud Environments

  • Integrate and execute automated tests within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bamboo).

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to run tests reliably in cloud and containerized environments.

  • Work with platforms and technologies including:

    • Kubernetes, Helm, Docker

    • Kafka-based microservices

    • Keycloak for authentication and security

    • Oracle and other relational databases

  • Support test execution and validation in scalable cloud-native environments.

System, Integration & Non-Functional Testing

  • Perform system, integration, regression, and acceptance testing across complex distributed systems.

  • Validate data flows, service interactions, and end-to-end business workflows.

  • Contribute to non-functional testing including performance, reliability, and stability.

  • Support release validation, production readiness, and troubleshooting of complex defects.

Technical Leadership, Mentorship & Quality Advocacy

  • Work independently on complex testing and integration tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Guide and mentor junior test engineers and support onboarding of new team members.

  • Take a leadership role within the scrum team for quality-related topics and initiatives.

  • Represent testing values, methods, and best practices within the team (“test conscience”).

Process Improvement & Knowledge Sharing

  • Identify and drive improvements in test automation, tooling, and development processes.

  • Proactively evaluate and adopt new testing tools, frameworks, and technologies.

  • Document testing approaches, automation patterns, and best practices.

  • Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • BE / MCA or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in software testing, test automation, and integration testing.

  • Strong understanding of software development, system design, and software architecture fundamentals.

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Java

    • Cucumber BDD

    • Playwright or similar UI automation tools

    • REST API automation

Required Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and guide quality practices.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

  • Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Willingness to travel internationally due to global project activity.

Nice to Have
