Job Description Summary
At Magna, The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and optimal performance of the plant’s industrial equipment and facilities. The role oversees preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities to guarantee operational continuity while meeting safety, quality, cost, and productivity objectives.
Hiring Requirements
- Define and implement the site's maintenance strategy.
- Develop, execute, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
- Manage corrective maintenance activities and technical shutdowns.
- Ensure rapid response to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance teams.
- Organize work schedules, shifts, and on-call activities.
- Set performance objectives and conduct regular evaluations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze recurring failures and implement corrective action plans.
- Participate in the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new equipment
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget.
- Supervise contractors’ interventions on site.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Lean Manufacturing, or World Class Manufacturing initiatives.
- Contribute to operational excellence and industrial transformation programs.
Additional Job Description
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- Proven experience managing maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in high-volume industrial sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace, Metal Processing, FMCG, Food Processing, Chemical, Textile, or similar industries
- Strong knowledge of: Mechanical systems, Industrial electrical systems, Automation and control systems, Industrial utilities
- Strong understanding of maintenance performance indicators and reliability methodologies.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on operational excellence.
- Fluent in French and English.
- Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices.
- Experience in budget planning and cost control.
