Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time ETL Developer Senior (Multiple openings) in Hopkins, MN.

Essential Responsibilities:

Develop and document processes to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data within applications and develop queries that are consistent and integrated with existing processes. Specific duties include:

  • create and implement automated processes to control data access, transformation, and movement;
  • ensure source system data availability and update accessibility, data integrity, restart ability, and error handling;
  • develop processes using ETL tools to implement logical and physical dataflow models according to functional requirements and mapping designs;
  • code, test, and implement ETL mappings and scripts to build and maintain automated ETL processes;
  • oversee transformation activities, such as normalization, cleansing, aggregation, summarization, and integration;
  • identify and manage interfaces, service levels, standards, and configurations;
  • work in query and database access tools, relational databases, data warehousing, application testing, system testing, and application development tools;
  • operate and maintain existing Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Synapse data warehouse using a variety of data integration technologies;
  • build complex data pipelines using PySpark, ADF, SSIS, Informatica, Python and Stored Procedures;
  • migrate on-premises SQL Server data stores to Microsoft Azure Synapse;
  • work with Azure Data Platform stack to handle big data transformation and processing (Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, Serverless, Synapse SQL and Spark Pools);
  • migrate ETL components from Microsoft SSIS, Informatica to Azure Data Factory, and PySpark;
  • build solutions using elastic architectures and work with a variety of SQL, NoSQL, Python, Spark, Serverless and Big Data Platforms;
  • implement experience with AAS/SSAS Tabular models both on-prem and in Azure, Power BI, Dataflows and DAX; and
  • work with Azure Gen2 Data Lake and the different file types that are most common for structured data (e.g., Avro, Parquet, etc.).

Use the following tools and technologies: Microsoft SQL Server, NoSQL, PySpark, ADF, SSIS, Informatica, Python, Stored Procedures, Azure, Synapse, Power BI, Dataflows, DAX, AAS/SSAS Tabular, Tableau, Data Platform Ecosystem, GitHub Co-Pilot, Visio, Erwin, DPE.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience in a software development occupation.

Required Skills/Experience:


Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Developing processes using ETL tools to implement logical and physical dataflow models using Visio and Erwin. 2) Coding, testing, and implementing ETL mappings and scripts to build and maintain automated ETL processes using DPE, Informatica, Azure, ADF, and Synapse. 3) Working in query and database access tools, relational databases, data warehousing, application testing, system testing, and application development tools. 4) Building complex data pipelines using PySpark, ADF, SSIS, Informatica, Python, and Stored Procedures. 5) Developing Data ingestion/Test frameworks using Pyspark and Azure. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. May be subject to background checks and other regulatory requirements relevant to our industry and operations.
