Serve as member of decision-making team for investments in the private company fund

Share relevant insights with public investors from active participation in the private company ecosystem

Principal Responsibilities

Deal Sourcing: Actively interacts with venture capital, growth and private equity firms, private companies and other private company ecosystem partners to establish relationships and build a pipeline of the most promising late-stage (1-3 years from IPO) private companies globally. This requires regular attendance at conferences/events showcasing private companies, a consistent calling effort on leading VC and PE firms and follow-up with top portfolio companies, building relationships with subject matter experts and collaboration with TRP investors to follow up on leads from their collective networks. Ideally, we will establish relationships with companies at least several quarters prior to the time when the firm would consider an investment.

Company Evaluation: Conducts preliminary analysis, either independently or in partnership with sector analysts, to determine if a company is of sufficient quality to prioritize for tracking and engaging a broader group of TRP investors to consider. This work can include channel checks, preliminary financial model creation, assessment of management quality, comparison with public comparable companies, etc.

Private Fund Investment Committee Member: Serves as one of three (to five) committee members who make the final decision on investments for upcoming late-stage private company fund based on recommendations from sub-committees in TRPA and TRPIM. Will have responsibilities, in conjunction with sector analysts and other members of the Centralized Private Equity Team, for monitoring the progress of investments in the private fund. Responsible for portfolio construction, interaction with limited partner investors in the fund, fund raising and overall fund strategy.

Collaboration: Communicates regularly with TRP analysts and PMs to share relevant insights gained from meetings, conversations, conferences etc. in the private company ecosystem that could provide important read-throughs to public holdings. Also meets regularly with sector analysts to discuss private companies in their industries to prioritize private analyst calling effort.
