The intern will be part of the Environmental Product Requirements (EPR) team - the competence center responsible for Material Compliance based in Luzzara (RE), focusing on the chemical substances used in KION’s marketable products (e.g., REACH, RoHS, TSCA, POP…).

He/she will contribute to the development of a Risk-Based Approach for PFAS Identification in the Mechanical Industry.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Throughout the internship, you will first gain insight into key environmental product requirements affecting mechanical companies, with particular emphasis on PFAS chemicals, their upcoming restriction under the EU REACH Regulation, and the expected impact.

Your main responsibility will be to conduct a literature review on PFAS to collect relevant information. You will apply your chemical expertise, supported from the team, to define which critical uses and applications are relevant for mechanical companies.

Your research will directly contribute to the advancement of KION’s risk-based strategy for managing the upcoming PFAS-related requirements, facilitating the identification of critical components used within KION.

Requested requirements:

  • Scientific/chemical background

  • Good analytical skills and interest in conducting literature research

  • Proficiency in English
