The RSM US Offices in India (USI) supports RSM U.S. risk consulting, transaction advisory, technical accounting, financial consulting, technology and management consulting, tax and assurance engagement teams by providing access to highly skilled professionals for repeatable business processes over an extended business day.

RSM is looking for a manager to join our Accounting and Finance Consulting (AFC) team. Changing economies, new accounting policies and evolving tax regulations mean that business and professional services firms face an ever-changing business landscape. The Manager will be an integral team member by assisting in our AFC practice/e. They will work with teams of technical accounting on different engagements in area of Business Combination Accounting, New Accounting Standard Implementation, Capital Market Readiness and Audit readiness. This team assists clients to better understand the implication of changes in accounting standards guidelines as well to assist them in area of complex accounting matters. Our clients include firms in a variety of industries, including financial services, technology, life sciences, and manufacturing to name just a few.

Qualification and Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant/CPA with minimum of 6-9 years of technical accounting experience.
  • Understanding of audit services with mediocre to in-depth knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
  • Experience (Intermediate to advanced level) with any or all of following GAAP standards preferred:
    • ASC 805, 606, 842, 280, 810, 815, 718, 323, 325, 480 preferred.
    • IFRS 3, 9, 10, IAS 28, 32.
  • Experience in leading projects for mergers and acquisitions accounting (business combinations).
  • Lead the review of technical memos and other disclosures on engagements.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in drafting sections of Form F1, F4, 10-K, 10-Q, S-1, S4
  • PCAOB financial statement uplift and Audit Readiness assistance.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and client management skills
  • Strong business development and marketing skills

Position Responsibilities

  • Participate in and supervising multiple engagements within the Accounting and Finance Consulting (AFC) practice to provide technical accounting and financial or business advisory guidance to U.S. based private and public clients,

  • Desirable:
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of complex accounting concepts.
  • Extensive hands-on  experience in leading with large and small projects related to:
    • Business Combination (ASC-805),
    • Revenue Recognition,
    • GAAP Conversions,
    • Drafting and designing accounting memos
    • Providing accounting advisory support and research to clients, including implementation assistance with new accounting standards
    • Consolidation (ASC -810),
    • IPO transaction support, carve outs, and
    • Lease Accounting

  • Review of financial statements including comprehensive notes and disclosures, prepared in accordance with US GAAP & IFRS.
  • Business combination (ASC-805) which includes recognize and measure assets acquired, liabilities assumed and non-controlling interest, goodwill or gain from bargain purchase and other accounting matters related to business combination
  • Review and Perform audit readiness support for complex accounting matters and provide services to U.S. based public clients.
  • Review Financial Statements disclosure checklists, SEC disclosure checklists for registration statements, drafts of sections of various SEC filings (e.g., MDA draft, etc)
  • Candidates having prior experience working in a capability center delivery model for US clients are preferred.
  • Team player; self-driven and ability to work independently as well as able to motivate team members

Qualitative demeanor:

  • Open to stretching on working hours in periods of peak capital markets and merger & acquisition activity.
  • Building relationships with the onshore teams in order to drive hours offshore
  • Working directly with the onshore engagement team on a daily basis to deliver work to onshore clients
  • Develop and lead a team of experts in accounting advisory across levels and ensure the team delivers high–quality work, on time and to budget
  • Taking an active role in developing the skill sets and competencies of the team
  • Acting as a performance manager for the junior team member and being involved in their career development
  • Identify development opportunities and training needs for high performing team
