In this role, you’ll improve predictive models, develop new ones, and automate decision-making processes. Collaborate with category managers, loyalty teams, and more to drive impactful results and shape the future of retail.

What You'll Do:

  • Be the business partner team for any merchandising support, data analytics and strategy development including, and not limited to - planograms, assortment, space planning, pricing, loyalty, customer insights and segmentation initiatives.

  • Collaborate with various business units in Merchandising, to focus on long-term projects like pricing and promotion optimization, loyalty initiatives such as promo integrity and planning.

  • Support the ad-hoc analysis in areas including control brand vs national brand, vendor performance, promotional performance, and customer level performance etc..

  • Leverage data techniques to develop, improve and automate decision making process.

  • Understand the full product pricing lifecycle and help categories achieve their goals with data-driven initiatives.

  • Work collaboratively and effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Work with Loblaw/vendor partners to refine existing system algorithms. 

  • Strictly adhere to legal and compliance guidelines, regarding access and exposure to sensitive and confidential information

Essentials for this role:

  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, storytelling skills, the ability to take initiative, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, and strong detail orientation

  • Customer focus – Align everything we do to how it impacts the customer and create a value proposition for the customer.

  • Bachelor or Master degree in an analytical field of study (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or other relevant fields).

  • 3+ years of experience related to quantitative analysis and proven results

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver high-impact presentations on complex topics to leaders at all levels. 

  • Superb analytical and conceptual thinking skills; to not only manipulate but also derive meaningful interpretations from data

  • Experience in SQL and Python.

  • Experience in cloud platform like GCP and BI platform (Power BI, Microstrategy etc).

  • Experience within a large retailer would be considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of Machine learning is an asset.
