The Job:  

As a key member of Stanley Engineering Fastening (SEF) Finance Team, you will support the development, deployment, and execution of value creation strategy across the $2B business segment. This position primarily supports the recently launched Value Creation (VC) initiative, while maintaining key FP&A rhythms. The VC team will evaluate the global SEF business in new ways to unlock cost and cash efficiencies, enabling the Company’s long-term target of 35%-37% AGM and 100% FCF conversion.  You’ll get to:

  • Serve as “right hand” to VC leader, creatively collaborating across SEF to identify cost and cash opportunities, build and execute plans to drive improvement. And, support CFO as financial leader and strategic thought partner, advising on investment decisions, risk trade-offs, gap closure and risk management.
  • Drive the sharing of Value Creation & FP&A best practices and processes between regions and Verticals.
  • Assist SEF’s leadership team in making sound financial choices within their areas of responsibility via ad hoc analysis and coaching.
  • Support the Auto strategic and annual planning process; ensure tight linkage with business and financial objectives; facilitate setting financial targets for region teams and work with them to build plans to achieve
  • Partner with CFO to proactively highlight risks and opportunities, and support decision making and resourcing to deliver against both the annual and long-term Strategic Plans
  • Partner with Regional Leaders to create the external storyline on the performance of the Auto business
  • Partner with Group FP&A to create Monthly Business Review (MBR) materials which highlight the performance and plans of the international business and the Value Creation function.

The Person:

  • BA or BS required in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or another quantitative field
  • 4+ years of finance related experience, with certification or specialized coursework in value creation preferred. 
  • Strong influencing, project management and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment, across all functions, generate solutions/recommendations to issues before topic is presented to management
  • Successful track record of designing and implementing process improvements and optimization
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP and Financial reporting systems
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; understanding of data and experience with deploying advanced data tools (Power BI, QlikView, Alteryx, Tableau) a significant plus
  • Independent self-starter with ability to multi-task in a highly energetic, fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal. 
  • Exceptional relationship builder with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams, and third parties
  • Creative problem smaller who is energized by new projects & assignments that propel the business forward
  • Excited by solving “big picture” questions by partnering with the global team & looking at the business in new ways
