Deputy Shift Lead

At a glance:

Based at one of Australia’s most advanced automated picking solution sites in Moorebank, Sydney, the Deputy Shift Lead supports daily operational excellence within a high‑performance maintenance team. This hands‑on leadership role is ideal for proactive, detail‑oriented professionals who thrive in automated environments and are passionate about safety, service, and continuous improvement.

Your Impact:

• Support the Shift Leader by providing hands‑on leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to ensure safe and efficient operations

• Coordinate daily workflows to deliver maintenance and service activities on time, resolving technical issues and allocating resources effectively

• Act as the first point of leadership during outages and incidents, restoring system performance quickly and maintaining clear stakeholder communication

• Drive productivity, equipment availability, and continuous improvement initiatives using performance data and operational insights

• Ensure accurate reporting and tracking of maintenance activities through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

• Support the achievement of site KPIs across safety, operational performance, and service level delivery

What makes you a great fit?​

• Qualification (degree, diploma, or certificate) in mechanical, electrical, or a related technical discipline

• Experience supporting or leading technical teams within automated or industrial environments

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels

• Analytical mindset with experience interpreting technical data, system reports, and diagnostics

• Ability to act as a technical escalation point during incidents and manage internal and external stakeholder expectations

• Experience with ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems) is highly regarded
