Job Description
Management of System and Spares warehouse, based in Rugby UK
Safety
- maintaining a safe area through 5S
- conducting regular area safety inspections
- ensuring adequate risk assessments cover all activities
- controlling access where necessary
- ensuring equipment and plant is maintained and fit for use in line with business expectations and legal requirements
Quality & Continuous Improvement/Lean
- Supporting quality management in warehouse such as Non-conformance logging, investigations and resolutions
- Lead a culture of continuous improvement, working collaboratively with Inventory owners, finance and other site users to improve all aspects of service
- Support Kaizen projects to demonstrate the journey of Lean Culture
Delivery & Inventory Management
- Ensure effective and lean Good Receipt (GR) process
- Always maintain stock integrity through such measures as cycle counting and/or wall to wall counts
- fulfilment of all internal orders i.e. pick and pack
- booking of all carrier collections/deliveries with Third Party Logistics 3PL (e.g Wallis, Neal Brothers, DHL, UPS etc) as per the inventory, order/project managers instruction support
- effective inventory management of all material once booked in (according to the specific area owners’ instruction)
- work collaboratively with inventory owners and finance teams with any specific inventory management requirements such as audit counts
- Conducting investigations as and when Inventory loss occurs
- Effective communications of all above with inventory owners & order/project managers
Cost Optimisation
- Ensuring Lean approach and Kaizen projects to demonstrate cost optimisation ideas (material, labour, logistics, process optimisation etc)
- special focus on effective inventory management to improve cash flow working collaboratively with project managers and finance
- manage offsite storage, ensuring cost effectiveness and controlling use within designated budget
- responsibility for management of waste in specific area such as WEE, scrap metal, recycling, etc
- support owners of special projects like Pool exchange, configurations, Failure trend analysis etc
Compliance
- Ensuring warehouse operations as per GE EHS regulations (especially driving with Forklift), Gensuite management
- Ensuring adherence to all import/export compliance policies (existing & upcoming regulations)
- Ensuring warehouse activities would support and consider GE Vernova’s sustainability policy
Essential Skills
- Forklift license required, must have experience in driving in manufacturing environment
- Effective communicator, able to communicate with multiple stakeholders
- Strong understanding of inventory management, Warehouse activities and logistics in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Excellent working knowledge of SAP APCIS and Fusion systems
- Good level of expertise with Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, power point
- Leading by example' at all the times while working with multifunctional teams
- Hands-on and ability to handle multiple priorities in a high demanding environment.
Considering the nature of this job role, it will be Rugby site based 5 days a week
