Essential Functions
Promotes a philosophy of patient/family‑focused care through cordial greeting and interactions with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
Provides hospital/unit orientation information for guests, patients, and families.
Demonstrates an awareness of hospital systems and procedures, including the location of all departments, procedure areas, and other patient services.
Refers patients, families, and others to appropriate resources.
Independently transports and assists in the transfer of patients.
Properly identifies patients utilizing two approved identifiers.
Ensures safety and support measures during patient transfer (e.g., bedrails raised, patient covered with a blanket and kept warm).
Is aware of special precautions when transferring patients with precautions.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience
Medical Office/Hospital/Managed Care Experience 0-1 year required and Operating Room Experience 0-1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to comprehend written directions for mixing cleaning supplies and ordering supplies.
- Must be aware of proper body mechanics when assisting in patient transfer and lifting of heavy objects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with other health care members.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team.
- Must constantly be alert and attentive to progress of O.R. schedule to meet tight deadlines.
