Job Summary
The individual will Lead and manage high-level projects that provide ConvaTec's Haina facility and corporation with significant return on investment or strategic advantage in addition to providing leadership in all process engineering functions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement initiatives to reduce costs.
- Assist in capital budget management, development and execution.
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting for the Manufacturing operation.
- Promotes teamwork and develops strong relationships across functions, while effectively directing the utilization of resources to more effectively achieve business objectives.
- Help develop, suggest and implement modifications, equipment and/or processes that contribute to the improvement of safety, quality and productivity.
- Establishes, develops, and maintains positive relationships with support groups and providers.
- Ask for ideas and opinions to specifically assist in decisions or plans. Actively seeks the opinions and perspectives of individuals of diverse backgrounds and interests.
- Executes plans and priorities to meet global operational objectives based on the strategic objectives of Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
- Maintains, disseminates, and leverages learning from process and project improvement initiatives through ConvaTec, sharing industry best practices.
- Conveys relevant and important information or opinions, even when it may be negative or unpopular. The focus is on the problem, not the personality.
- It uses past experience, knowledge of theory and historical trends to assess current situations.
- Develop, suggest and implement modifications to processes and/or equipment that contribute to improving safety, quality and productivity.
- Develop and maintain training programs to keep engineering personnel informed of current technology in relation to operations.
- Develop and implement corrective improvement plans, in accordance with operational objectives.
- Take responsibility for the results and make reasonable efforts to achieve all objectives related to the areas of Engineering and Technique.
- Directs and/or participates in the investigations of accidents or first aid incidents in the functional area. Ensures that corrective measures for accidents or first aid events are implemented and effective.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
- Graduated in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electronic or Electrical), MBA or Master in Engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in medical device manufacturing or pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in Project Management and Continuous Improvement Projects.
- Knowledge of Process Control (DPMs, CPMs, Variance, etc...)
- More than 3 years of experience specifically in a leadership role. Performing Risk Analysis.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of costs.
About You
- Candidate should have strong analytical skills with proven experience in project planning and project management, with excellent track record of product delivery.
- Carrying out engineering and equipment studies / Validation processes.
- Develop and modify standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Must have a thorough understanding of machinery design, construction and operations.
- Theoretical knowledge of the theory and practice of operations management, including methods, principles and systems.
- Work in a team environment, working on multiple projects and changing priorities.
- You must have a thorough knowledge of engineering project control in a medical device environment.
- Mastery of software applications used within ConvaTec.
- Knowledge of projects and programs in the area of Maintenance, based on general objectives and goals.
- Proficiency in various computer software applications (e.g. SAP, MS Office, etc.).
- Ability to accurately interpret and respond effectively to financial data. (i.e. costs, material variance reports, etc.)
- Decision-making skills related to capital projects for production equipment, facilities and systems.
- Must be able to work closely with Operations Manager and Maintenance Manager, both individually and in groups.
- Ability to demonstrate basic technical and mechanical initiatives related to manufacturing equipment.
- Fully proficient in oral and written communications and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish at an advanced level.

- Know CVT's EHS and OH policies and the standards that support them.
- Understand EHS risks and all requirements related to their job responsibilities and the appropriate controls in place to manage those risks and requirements.
- Execute their job responsibilities professionally and in compliance with internal EHS requirements and procedures without compromising their own safety or that of others.
- Be alert to EHS hazards in the workplace, responding to them appropriately and immediately communicating them to responsible management as soon as they are identified (e.g., spills).
- Participate in community, training, and EHS awareness initiatives.
- Help drive continuous improvement of EHS performance, recommending potential improvements to responsible management.
