The role: What's in the Box
As an HR Specialist within the Benelux People Team, you will be the operational backbone of our Amsterdam HQ while providing vital support to our regional operational HR teams. In this mid-level role, you will take ownership of the day-to-day HR lifecycle, ensuring our people processes run like clockwork. By mastering the "ad-hoc" and the essential, you will empower your senior colleagues to drive high-impact projects, directly contributing to a balanced and high-performing People function. Your dedication to structure and your Data-Driven mindset will ensure that every employee inquiry is handled with care and every administrative detail is flawlessly executed.
What you’ll do: The Recipe
- Manage the end-to-end HR administrative lifecycle for our employees, ensuring all employee data remains accurate and compliant.
- Act as the first point of contact for employment inquiries, providing clear, helpful, and timely guidance to our employees on HR policies and labor law.
- Execute monthly payroll preparations for the Benelux region, collaborating closely with HR Business Partners and external providers to guarantee timely and correct payments.
- Coordinate with the Associate Director of HR & Payroll to share critical data and reporting with external partners, including pension providers.
- Optimize existing administrative workflows by identifying bottlenecks and suggesting smarter, more efficient ways to handle high-volume tasks.
- Collaborate across the People team to ensure a seamless "onboarding to offboarding"; experience for every HelloFresh employee.
What you’ll bring: The Ingredients
- Proven experience in a mid-level HR or People Operations role, ideally within a fast-paced or dynamic environment.
- Solid knowledge of Dutch labor law and core HR practices, with a keen interest in maintaining compliance across diverse locations.
- A structured and detail-oriented approach to work, with the ability to stay focused and organized while managing multiple ad-hoc requests simultaneously.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (experience with AFAS and/or Workday is a plus).
- Strong communication skills, allowing you to explain complex HR or payroll topics to stakeholders with empathy and clarity.

Commercial information
- This role is offered on a freelance basis; standard employee benefits do not apply.
- All costs and expenses (including travel or commuting) must be included in the proposed hourly rate. Hourly rates should be communicated excluding VAT.
- Invoicing must comply with applicable Dutch legal and VAT requirements.
- All contingent workers engaged by HelloFresh must hold valid professional liability insurance that is valid in the Netherlands. If we decide to move forward together and you are not yet insured, you will be required to arrange this insurance before starting the assignment.

- Suggested Office presence: Wednesdays and Fridays are team days
