Job Description

Administers the efficient and economical movement of goods (e.g., materials, products, equipment) across international borders in accordance with organizational policies and in compliance with relevant local, country and international customs laws and processes. Prepares, reviews, approves and maintains files for import/export documents such as customs declarations, a PO (purchase order), packing list, commercial invoice, SLI (shippers letter of instruction), SED (shipper's export declaration), BOL (bill of lading), AWB (air waybill), IC (import certificate), etc. required for the lawful completion of import/export activities Ensures that commercial and sales invoices are accurate in accordance with physical shipment and customer's SLI, quantities, value of goods, country of origin, and other regulatory requirements. Serves as an import/export liaison for international customers/subsidiaries, distribution, procurement, planning, manufacturing, intercompany finance, regulatory and import/export compliance functions.

 

a.       Knowledge in application of the Control of inventories and structures of materials (Annex 24)

b.       Keep and effective and efficient management of the Annex 24 Systems to ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of the information registered with Customs import and export operations.

c.       Able to have daily  interactions with U.S., Customs Broker to solve any issue or discrepancy in the clearance  / customs process.

d.       Maintain direct communication with the Customs Operations supervisor for reporting any incidents tgat involve relevant issues or weaknesses on  the Customs Clearance process (US/MX)

e.       Ability to perform a detailed analysis for new routes or import processes  and  designing correct operations controls to ensure that all the Legal requirements are meet  and avoid customs penalties.

f.        Elaboration of import and export invoices in Annex 24 system and SAP GTS module for imports, exports of all types of materials.

g.        To perform on time review and authorization of pedimentos

h.       Apply required Pedimentos Identifiers at line and header levels.

i.         Analyze and define which tariff benefit to use depending the import operations.

j.         Management of pedimentos and virtual operations, regime changes and regularizations.

k.       Perform monthly virtual operations closing on time to avoid incurring on customs fines for extemporary import /export operations.

l.         Coordinate information generation and periodic reports creation related with customs, foreign trade and certifications

m.     Prepares the reports and presentations of managerial information of its activities and shows it in the periodic meetings of management of results of customs department.

n.       Maintains direct communication with Mexican and American Customs Brokers in the proceedings before Customs, coordinates the operation of merchandise inspectors (broker clerk) both at the airport and at the San Diego warehouse.

o.       Ensures compliance with security programs and / or C-TPAT / AEO certifications in Foreign Trade operations.

p.       It has contact with the transport companies (programming and confirming) to have an efficient flow of goods.

q.       Verification of special requirements HAZMAT (SAFE-TECH)

r.       Other activities inherent to the customs department. Knowledge in BOM structures and annex 24 backflush.

s.       Maintain an updated and complete physical file of the customs operations and ensure to have the required flow of documents with the related parts.

t.        Monitor import and export operations and ensure to report issues or potential risks with them directly to the supervisor.

u.       Follow the instructions contained in the Internal Work Regulation concerning safety, care of equipment, materials, facilities and other resources owned by the company.

v.       Carry out your work in accordance with the methods, instructions and authorized and updated specifications applicable to the customs department.
