Job Description Summary:

This Regulatory IT Project Manager manages projects from concept through deployment with coordination and leadership in many operational activities such as services, implementations, strategy and are part of an agile development methodology. This is a senior versatile role that designs and supports intelligent processes and technology to empower talented people to transform healthcare.

Qualifications: Regulatory IT Project Manager

  • Minimum of one (1) of the following required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
    • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired and PMP certification.
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in managing projects or performing project management functions required.
  • Prior experience managing large scale projects required.
  • Experience developing professional-grade project documentation to support the lifecycle of the project required.
  • Experience analyzing data and developing recommendations for solving problems required.
  • Experience leading inter-departmental projects, innovative thinking, leading technical solution meetings, and ensuring proper implementation required.
  • Certified in Compliance and Ethnics (CCEP)Experience in SharePoint, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project and Electronic Health Systems preferred. 
  • Additional requirement for Regulatory IS assignment:
    • Certified in Health Privacy and Security (CHPS) within two (2) years of hire.
  • Additional preferred qualifications for Regulatory IS assignment:
    • Five (5) years IS compliance and/or privacy work experience
    • Possess in depth knowledge of the healthcare compliance and privacy rules, regulations and laws.
    • Possess knowledge of health care reimbursement, including Critical Access Hospital Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations
    • Experience with compliance with CMS promoting interoperability and eClinical Quality Measures (eCQM)
    • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
    • Certified in Healthcare Research and Compliance (CHRC)
    • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Provides senior technical project management to various Logan Health (LH) business areas, managing the entire lifecycle of the project from business case development to design, build, QA and deployment.
  • Responsible for large scale, large budget projects and the management of project resources.
  • Leads meetings with executive level leadership to coordinate project efforts.
  • Manages technology projects within project budget, scope, and timelines while adhering to the business and technical requirements. Responsible for the ultimate quality of the technical solution along with the project team.
  • Works within Project Management Office (PMO) structure to deliver against a prioritized project portfolio. Performs effective and timely communication to project team members, peers, stakeholders and management on project status, accomplishments, tasks, issues, and risks to the project.
  • In rotation with other IS Project Managers, coordinates operational activities within the IS department associated with agile development methodology.
  • Acts as primary liaison with external consultants and external service providers when needed within the context of a project. These include but may not be limited to, contract negotiations, invoice review and approval, coordination of all meetings, status updates, discussions of project risks, etc.
  • Develops processes, procedures, and documentation to be used by staff for information and technology developed within IS projects at LH.
  • Provides feedback and insight on the PMO methodology to form a continuous improvement feedback loop to ensure LH is adapting processes, procedures, and structure to be as effective as possible.
  • Works with portfolio owners to perform business analyst functions such as develop user needs, requirement gathering, creates workflow diagrams, and manages technology projects.
  • Assists with QA and testing efforts as needed.
  • Additional duties as applicable to Regulatory IS assignment:
    • Responsible for managing risk and assessing quality to ensure overall program success inclusive of risk analysis with mitigation strategies and proactively communicated status updates on key deliverables to key stakeholders.
    • Maintains knowledge of state and federal regulations and understands existing regulatory requirements and monitors industry for changes and new initiatives.  Ensures IS solutions meet regulatory standards and guidelines, facilitating monitoring and reviews as necessary.
    • Assists in maintaining regulatory policies and compliance with Federal and Montana state law as applicable.
    • Assists compliance leadership with the documentation and preparation in submitting reportable events to required government entities.
    • Remains abreast of regulatory trends in privacy and compliance regulations and engages in continued education programming.
