- Location: Glenbrook Hospital
- Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, days; 8am-4:30pm, rotating week-ends.

What you will need:
Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Collaborate with the pharmacy department to identify and source pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical supplies, and related items.
Ensure the procurement process adheres to all pharmacy-specific regulations and quality standards.
- Maintain relationships with pharmaceutical suppliers and wholesalers to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisitions.
- Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory levels, optimizing stock levels to minimize waste and prevent shortages.
- Evaluate the performance of pharmaceutical suppliers and wholesalers, tracking delivery times and product quality.
- Negotiate contracts with pharmaceutical vendors to ensure the best pricing and terms.
Prepare and process purchase orders for pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical supplies, and related items.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy department to ensure the procurement of high-quality pharmaceutical products and supplies.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to medication quality and compliance.
- Stay informed about pharmacy industry regulations, compliance requirements, and procurement standards.
- Ensure that all pharmacy procurement activities adhere to hospital policies and legal guidelines.
- Generate procurement reports to track pharmaceutical spending, vendor performance, and cost savings.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Education Level
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, pharmacy administration, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum Licensure Requirements
- PTCB certification preferred.
- Pharmacy Technician Registration
- Current Illinois Registered Pharmacy Technician License
- Successfully passed the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) examination, and maintains a current Pharmacy Technician Certification
Minimum Certification Requirements
Minimum Work Experience
- Previous experience in pharmacy procurement or a related field is a plus.
- Experience with pharmacy software and procurement tools.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician or in a purchasing position.
- Minimum three years of hospital pharmacy experience as a pharmacy technician with inpatient pharmacy inventory management experience, preferred
- Minimum three years of purchasing / inventory management experience, preferred
