Job Summary:

Poland Patriot Program is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Lead Trailer Engineer to join the Raytheon International Engineering Tean. Combine your technical skills, Global Mindset, and your ability to collaborate and build partnerships to make the world a safer place.

Lead Trailer Engineer overseas the development of design and system architecture processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to production. Such design and development may include new or revised processes. Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine design verification and services, troubleshoots and solves production and design process problems with processes or equipment already in operation. The person in this role will decompose require requirement, develop a design and technical data package working with Polish Partners design team.

The position is based in Krakow, Poland and is a 2 year international assignment on an MOU with additional compensation emoluments with possibility to extend.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Member of Raytheon Polska staff based in Poland in support of the LTAMDS IPTs
  • Responsible for the planning, organizing, and controlling of design-related activities at a Polish supplier’s site
  • Coordinate development and cross-functional review cycles for technical data packages (TDPs) including system architecture, design requirements/specification, technical drawing, and other required design documents to meet defense and Raytheon standards
  • Develop the Polish supplier’s capability to design products that meet defense and Raytheon standards and coordinate the development of the Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Test Readiness Review (TRR), in support of design development and transition to production.
  • Support partner design reviews
  • Experience with Environmental Testing including road march, vibration and structural testing
  • Manage the coordination of program schedules with ISC, Subcontracts, Engineering, and other CBTs.
  • Support special process audits and First Article inspections
  • Support Production Readiness Review and Ship Readiness Review (SRR)
  • Engage with partner cold line production start, mitigating technical and performance risk by participating in engagements which will include requirements reviews, documenting recommended risk mitigation/opportunity activities as they relate to design and manufacturing, review and disposition of SDRLs
  • Support weekly subcontractors and internal team tag up meetings.
  • Participate in partner RESA activities
  • Participate in partner FRACAS activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations or equivalent and 8+ years of experience in production and/or engineering support environment related to Design or 6+ years of experience with advanced degree
  • Experience with current design systems and processes
  • Experience in transition from design to production
  • Experience with cross functional teams, with representatives from Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Mission Assurance, IPT Leadership, Program Management teams
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting international subcontractors in a production environment
  • Working knowledge on Patriot or LTAMDS Support Equipment
  • Knowledge of Shelter Architecture
  • Knowledge of Process of System Engineer and Requirement Verification
  • Design Eng on Subcontractor Builds and to required Quality standards and Engineering best practices
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
  • Experience in production of complex systems with ability to use analytical tools and methods
  • Support Mission Assurance in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activity
  • Demonstrated technical, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Advocate for process improvement, team builder and able to build strong relationships with partner and internal resources
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with external suppliers
  • Ability to influence others regarding policies, practices and procedures.
  • Works autonomously with limited oversight from manager

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
