Facilities Operations Technician

As a Facility Operations Technician at Micron Technology, in Manassas, VA, you will independently perform routine and non-routine complex tasks associated with operating and maintaining industrial equipment such as: chillers, boilers, pumps, chemical pumps, air handlers, piping, valves, VAV boxes, Air Balance, Ultra-Pure Water and industrial waste water treatment equipment.

      Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Operate and Maintain Site Mechanical Systems
  • Coordinate repair activities between different disciplines
  • Coordinate communications between engineers, maintenance, management and your customers about your equipment status
  • Manage assigned work scheduling
  • Investigate equipment failures to determine root cause
  • Participate in provided vendor training
  • Learn, understand, and follow manufactures recommendations
  • Author, review, and update procedures
  • Learn, understand, and demonstrate knowledge of systems and sub-systems
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and Reliability Initiatives
  • Participate as a team member on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams
  • Collaborate with site engineers to drive system improvements and enhancements
  • Participate in commissioning new system installation
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure site spares inventory is accurate and applicable
  • Complete work documentation in a timely fashion to include safety, job planning, site awareness of work, purchasing and other necessary paperwork to complete your job functions
  • Complete log entries in the work order system
  • Have all necessary paperwork at each job to include safety, checklist and job plans and check steps off as you proceed
  • Participate in reviewing of Job Plans associated with PM program and request changes as necessary

Minimum qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a technical filed or equivalent industrial equipment experience
  • Strong knowledge of industrial facilities systems and inter-related disciplines
  • Customer service approach and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills including spreadsheets and PowerPoint
  • High level of self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision
