The Senior Director for Dermatology will lead a team of Medical Scientists to focus on strategy, planning, development, and implementation of the US medical plan for SOTYKTU in Psoriasis. In partnership with US Commercial and in collaboration with the WW Medical and Development Teams, the Medical Lead pursues a strategic vision for the product life-cycle. This position requires the ability to organize and simply communicate complex data, align others behind a medical strategy across a matrix and partnerships, and to create and energize high performing medical teams. This individual will set clear and challenging targets that allow skilled and empowered professionals to accomplish business objectives consistent with department/program goals. This position requires objective and effective decision making, and the ability to successfully manage integration points across all BMS functional and commercialization areas to ensure alignment. The Senior Director will report to the Executive Medical Director, SOTYKTU Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing a medical plan that is both product specific and disease area focused and in alignment with US Commercial (USC) and WW Medical (WWM), translating appropriate USC and WWM strategies into effective US Medical launch and life cycle management activities in Dermatology. 

  • Active leadership and participation as core member on the WW Medical Team and closely collaborating and partnering with worldwide counterparts to craft the WWM plan that ensures US market needs are addressed. 

  • Leadership of USM cross-functional medical teams that include USM evidence generation and knowledge transfer resources to drive timely and flawless execution. 

  • Transparent communication and close collaboration with US Commercial & Access organizations to integrate medical perspectives into the commercialization process and ensure appropriate alignment between commercial and medical. 

  • Externally focused and connected to high impact external influencers in order to identify and translate key insights and to appropriately drive adoption of BMS medicines. 

  • Leadership of Dermatology TA aligned field-facing resources that provide them with the necessary coaching to ensure customer objectives are met. 

  • Contributes when appropriate to shaping the competitive strategies around pricing and reimbursement by influencing a US perspective for the target product profile, label language and value considerations. 

  • Continually measure and assess the effectiveness of USM Medical Immunology plans. 

  • The role of the Senior Director will have direct reports consisting of Medical Scientists. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred (MD, PhD, PharmD) or similar 

  • Established strategic leadership experience serving at least 8-10 years in a pharmaceutical industry setting and possessing an in-depth understanding of clinical and business development, Medical Affairs, and Commercial functions related to the drug development process  

  • PsO, PsA, and other dermatology therapeutic area scientific expertise 

  • Experience with evidence generation: sub-analysis, clinical collaborations, RWD, investigator sponsored research, Phase 3b/4 

  • Must be familiar with all phases of drug development, including clinical development, regulatory and life cycle management. 

  • US Dermatology healthcare landscape knowledge & insight 

  • Proven impact and influence with high impact national thought leaders * 

  • Launch expertise in dermatology therapeutic area 

  • Vision and strategic thinking 

  • Business acumen

  • Influencing and persuasion- negotiation skills

Expected Travel:

  • Expected 30% travel within the continental US 

  • Ability to be in the office at least 50% of workdays, role is based in Princeton, NJ
