Job Summary:

The Data Center Team Lead is responsible for assisting the technical support team by coordinating technical functions such as Disaster Planning, Licensing, Preventative Maintenance, Capacity Planning, Asset Auditing, Maintaining the Software Library and monitoring the Data Center Environment. Assists the Manager Technical Operations in the resolution of operational issues that negatively impact daily operations, performance statistics and reporting, process improvement, and systems monitoring. Prepares policies and procedures as needed to document new and revised processes. Responsible for day to day functionality of the Data Center and its supporting infrastructure Assist or leads in any Data Center designs or modifications Coordinates technical functions such as Disaster Planning, Licensing, Preventative Maintenance, Capacity Planning, Asset Auditing, Maintaining the Software Library and monitoring the Data Center Environment. -Provides operational support for Planned "downtime Scheduling, Change Control, Data Center Auditing, Testing of the Restoration Process for Backups, Disaster Recovery Testing and Auditing of User Access Rights and Data Center Access. Training and education of Data Center personnel on all aspect of their roles Assists the management in the resolution of operational issues that negatively impact daily operations, performance statistics and reporting, process improvement, and systems monitoring. Prepares policies and procedures as needed to document new and revised processes. Expert level of understanding of Data Center processes and procedures Career-Development position within field. Requires high skill sets and developing proficiency within discipline. Conducts tasks and assignments as directed. Works with little supervision with a lot of latitude for independent judgment. Willingness to work any shift, including weekend and holidays to function as a computer operator as needed. Typically requires 5 - 7 years experience or equivalent education.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Responsible for ensuring that all assigned projects are completed according to the plan and within the expectations documented in the project plan. Coordinates data center projects and acts as the technical liaison for data center support projects. Routine projects that will fall with in the scope of this position are: Disaster Planning, Monitoring/Establishing SLAs, Licensing, Preventative Maintenance, Hardware Maintenance, Data Center Infrastructure (Environment) Monitoring, Coordination of Data Center Operations, Capacity Planning, Asset Auditing, and Management of the Software Library. Prepares project plans, coordinates resources, resolves conflicts and manages to plan. This includes the overall approach, goal, budgets and project structure. * Provides weekly or when requested status reports on all assigned projects. * Coordinate/Chair project meetings. * Builds project plan for enterprise projects and manages to plan. * Completes of assigned projects on time or adjusts target dates to meet revised priorities with approval from supervisor. * Alerts the program sponsor of any potential issues that could affect the timeliness, quality, or cost of the project. Maintains list of issues and risks. Creates a plan of action in case of a problem and works with areas of IS to implement/rectify. * Resolves resource issues. * Manages the scope of each project to ensure unapproved changes do not occur. Under the direction of the Manager Technical Operations assists the Operations Staff in the resolution of operational issues that negatively impact daily operations. Clearly documents work orders and system/application/hardware/incident support issues and resolutions in the call tracking system for of all assigned support calls. * Completes problem resolution, work orders including critical problems in a timely manner (following SLAs), updating client of status and maintaining work schedules and appointments with the user. * Properly documents all work orders and problem calls in tracking system, while in work and once completed. A constant chain of documentation for current user status. * Escalates problems to the proper person/groups/management * Properly documents all work orders and problem calls in tracking system, while in work and once completed. A constant chain of documentation for current user status. * Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, process improvement, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. * Deliver performance statistics and reports Actively support IS policies, procedures and initiatives. * Maintains all inclusive system documentation, (i.e. alerts, trending, incidents, log files etc.) * Prepares and revises policies and procedures, as needed, for areas of responsibility. * Insures that the team complies with all policies and procedures. * Recommends changes in policies, and procedures to improve all areas impacting Data Center Operations Enhance professional growth and development, for self and others through education programs, workshops or other educational opportunities that may be presented. Keep abreast of current events. * Creates training documentation that is user friendly, detailed and precise. * Maintains current knowledge of operating procedures and standards; Obtains approval from Manager Technical Operations for any variance from approved standards. Coordinates/Oversees the activities of the Technical Operations Staff in the absence of the Manager Assists the Manager Technical Operations in designing tactical and strategic directions in areas of responsibility. Performs additional duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

High school diploma equivalent Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    Additional License(s) and Certification(s):

    An advanced certification in project management, networking or system administration (Microsoft, Unix, or Novell) Upon Hire Required

    Required Minimum Experience:

    Minimum 5 years equivalent work experience in lieu of education Required and Minimum 3 years years of experience in information technology in project management, network administration, or system administration. Required

    Required Minimum Skills:

    Experienced in project management. Working knowledge of Desktop operating systems, WAN/LAN monitoring and management, open systems environments - Windows/Novell/Linux/Unix, and SAN technologies. Sound judgment and analytical abilitys related to data center operations. Ability to analyze and resolve problems. The individual must have strong communication, presentation, and customer relation skills. Self motivator and strong leadership qualities. Ability to coordinate individuals on day to day activities.
