Job Role

Are you a Mainframe Expert ? We are hiring a Mainframe Online & Performaqnce SME responsible for the installation, maintenance, and setup of online infrastructure on the IBM Mainframe platform. You establish online transaction capabilities via CICS and CPSM and provide messaging capabilities through MQ. Additionally, you support interaction patterns with distributed and cloud platforms using CICS web services, CICS REST API, and Distributed Kafka connectors.

We’re looking for Transaction & Messaging SME to have the following Technical & Functional knowledge:

Job Responsibilities

• Configuration and management of the online systems
• 3rd level support for transaction and messaging products, including on call support
• Maintaining Software levels via the 
•  Platformset process
• Provide a single point of contact to the vendors for the software we support
• Provide solutions for Artefacts as code
• Work closely with CTO and application teams
• Lead/collaborate on projects related to the online environment
• Validate and implement new technologies to the online environment

2.       Backlog Management

• Use Gitlab to manage all Issues and EPICs

3.       Messaging/MQ

You are responsible for the  IBM MQ for z/OS and FTPS for z/OS infrastructure. You ensure that this infrastructure continues to run smoothly and maintains the highest availability during the upcoming integration activities. Additionally, You manage QMS, a  developed framework written in PL/1, which provides z/OS applications with an API interface to interact with IBM MQ for z/OS..

• System Performance – responsible for measuring system capacity demand, managing WLM settings, providing source data for SCRT reports, maintaining the z/OS Performance Alert Monitor, analyzing system resource consumption on demand, performing DB2 buffer pool analysis regularly, and supporting the IPM process.
  
  
• Online Services - responsible for the productive online processing and the availability / stability of multiple mainframe system components that are part of the end-to-end online services. The team supervises and collaborates with Singapore & Pune and is functionally responsible according to the Global Support Model (see link). Online Services acts as 2nd Level Support for all online-related incidents during office hours and provides 24/7 on-call service. It fulfills service requests for the respective area either directly or by forwarding them to FLS. Online Services also supports the maintenance of test environments for EDP testing, as well as EDP production installation and verification.
  
  
• MMS Reporting Services – maintains and engineers the MMS reporting platform Jane, supported by the vendor Nextstride. The platform consumes data from several sources, mainly SMF data, which is enriched with specific data during the ETL process. Based on these aggregated data sources, MMS reports are created and visualized in Tableau and Grafana. Jane reporting data is an input source for the internal billing process and needs to be provided monthly. The zCAM real-time monitoring solution is also maintained by MMS Reporting Services.
  
  
• Integration Services – defines non-functional requirements (NFRs) for applications and system objects, and designs and executes processes to monitor these NFR KPIs. The primary goal is to protect the system from application and system software defects/malfunctions to provide a stable, resilient platform. Integration Services also provides application performance analysis.

Your team

In our agile operating model, crews are aligned to larger products and services fulfilling client needs and encompass multiple autonomous pods. You’ll be working in the Mainframe & Midrange Stream in India focusing on Mainframe and Midrange Journey in the area of Transaction & Messaging. You will also work with the wider Mainframe elements in aligning some of our directive / policy and work with the Global team.
