What you'll do

As a Solution Architect, you’ll be architecting customer centric, high performance, secure and robust end to end digital products, solutions, and services that deliver business value while aligning to the bank’s strategic target architectures and roadmaps.

You’ll be supporting the growth of architecting capability, contributing to the development of architecture skills across the team by sharing knowledge, best practices, lessons learned, and mentoring others.

As well as this, you’ll be:

  • Supporting the realisation of the enterprise and solution architecture, working as part of development teams throughout the engineering development lifecycle
  • Providing technical guidance, resolving architectural impediments, and championing the adoption of architecture patterns and practices
  • Collaborating with programme stakeholders to help define the minimum viable solution architectures, while following the bank’s architecture method and frameworks
  • Supporting the selection and integration of technologies using the bank’s approved technology catalogues and patterns, with a focus on practical and immediate application
  • Adopting a DevOps mindset by working as part of development teams to embed architecture guidance in CI/CD pipelines

The skills you'll need

To take on this role, you’ll need practitioner knowledge of solution architecture frameworks, modern technologies such as Cloud, microservices and AI, agile architecture and DevOps practices, including a deep understanding of business use cases and emerging trends that drive organisational success.

You’ll bring proficient knowledge of serverless computing, microservices including Lambda, SQS and SNS, EventBridge and API Gateway, containerisation such as Docker, orchestration such as EKS and Kubernetes, and event-driven architectures like Kafka. Ideally, you’ll also have experience with generative AI solutions, GitOps, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, Route53, Agile and Scrum, and RAG architecture.

We’ll also want to see:

  • Knowledge of both the Data & Analytics and stakeholder technical domains with an understanding of key elements to ensure alignment to strategic roadmaps

  • A comprehensive understanding of the financial services environment and regulatory frameworks

  • Expertise in external influences and advancements that impact design

  • A solid grounding in security architectures, including IAM, Ping Identity suite such as PingFederate and PingAccess, mTLS, RBAC, and ABAC

  • Proven experience with cloud-native monitoring and observability practices including AWS CloudWatch, Grafana and Splunk

  • A strong understanding of network and API security standards including OAuth2, JWT and SAML
