PAY RATE: $17.84/hour (increases to $18.38/hour on 1/1/2027 per union contract)
HOURS: Nights & weekends; less than 30 hours/week

THE ROLE
As a Custodian at The Oncenter, you will be responsible for the conversion process in preparation for events in all facilities and assist with the general cleaning and maintenance of all facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the facility through continual walk-through(s), as well as clean up before, during, and after events.
Perform general cleaning to maintain the cleanliness of facility restrooms, event spaces, corridors, offices, suites, lobbies, escalators, elevators, docks, and exterior building grounds, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, etc.
Complete daily task sheets established by Management.
Provide assistance with set-up tasks for events as needed.
Notify Management of any housekeeping needs, safety concerns, or damage issues.
Operate custodial equipment including powered hand tools, riding machines, and chemical dispensers.
Provide excellent guest services during scheduled events.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Previous experience working in an event set-up or related field preferred.
Professional appearance and attitude are essential.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime shifts as needed.
Must be able to maintain reliable attendance.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Perform routine and repetitive housekeeping tasks without immediate supervision.
Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently, or with a team, while exercising good judgment and initiative.
Exceptional hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, stooping, lifting and walking.
Ability to work in inside or outside environments.
Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to walk/stand/sit for long periods of time.
Must have the physical ability to maneuver around the venue, at times walking and/or standing for 8-10 hours or greater, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs+, and frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting.
Must have the physical ability to bend, stoop, and maneuver around facility(ies), at times extensive walking and/or standing for 8-10 hours or greater as required.
Ability to exert well-paced mobility to move quickly to the different areas of the facility as demands require.
Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
