Why choose the Manufacturing Early Career Development Program?

Participants have the opportunity to develop strong manufacturing and engineering knowledge as well as build relationships through exposure to challenging assignments and diverse experiences. Participants will gain valuable experience in a highly regulated medical manufacturing setting that manufactures and distributes healthcare products to a broad range of healthcare customers. The program is designed to give participants knowledge of both technical engineering and leadership capabilities.

Participants will complete a 12-month assignment within a team at a manufacturing site. Roles will be determined based on business need.

Project Management Officer

•            Reports to: Engineering Manager

•            Coached by: Site Leader

•            Collaborates with: Mainly with Planning, Operations Excellence, Engineering and Production teams

Job Description Summary

Role Overview

The Project Management Officer supports the planning, implementation, and enhancement of projects and continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures high-quality project delivery, operational efficiency, and sustainable improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Delivery

  • Develop and maintain project documentation (plans, risk logs, progress reports).
  • Coordinate tasks, timelines, and resources to meet project milestones.
  • Organize project meetings, record minutes, track action items and ensure stakeholder alignment.

Budget & Risk Management

  • Monitor project expenditures against budgets and flag discrepancies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks through proactive planning and contingency measures.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as liaison among project teams and stakeholders, ensuring timely status updates and transparency.
  • Prepare and present project progress and outcomes to sponsors and senior management.

Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization

  • Analyze current processes to identify improvement opportunities, reduce waste, and boost efficiency.
  • Lead or support Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen or similar initiatives to drive sustainable improvements.
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to define and shape improvement strategies. [
  • Review project outcomes, conduct lessons-learned sessions, and integrate best practices organization-wide.

Data and Performance Management

  • Collect and analyze performance data, translating insights into prioritized improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to deepen analysis and support evidence-based decisions.
  • Track performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership and project boards.

Qualifications

For consideration in the Cardinal Health Early Career Development Program, you must meet a combination of the following requirements:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field; advanced qualification preferred
  • Proven project coordination experience, ideally supporting project managers in complex initiatives
  • Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail
  • Accumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (or country equivalent)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English and Native Thai
  • Participation in extracurricular activities and/or community service
  • Must have unlimited work authorization in the Thailand with no requirement for future sponsorship
  • Candidate must be based at Cardinal Health Gammatron Manufacturing site – 5 days a week
