Overview of Role

The Compliance Analyst supports the compliance function within Gunvor Singapore and other offices, mainly within the Asia-Pac region and will help ensure (1) counterparties on-boarded by the company meets the company’s standards of conduct, and (2) Gunvor Groups’ compliance control framework are observed.

Based in Singapore, the Compliance Analyst will report to the Senior Compliance Officer APAC and will work in close collaboration with colleagues on-site and Group’s other locations.

Main responsibilities

  • Undertake the Group’s counterparty registration/KYC process
  • Review of counterparty due diligence
  • Maintain and ensure static data in relation to counterparties is accurate and correct
  • Investigate low, medium and high-risk counterparties against money-laundering, bribery, fraud, sanction and suspicious activity
  • Undertake risk assessments on all new and existing counterparties including on PEPs and high-risk customers
  • Ensure assurance process is run and daily alerts are reviewed and resolved
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by manager

Profile 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Legal, Economics or Finance desired
  • Ideally 2- 4 years of KYC experience working within a financial Institution, Oil Major, Commodity Trading Firm, Brokerage Firm, within a Big 4 in an AML or KYC role, with good knowledge of AML requirements for both APAC & globally based clients
  • Knowledge of AML, Anti-Bribery and Corruption Compliance or sanctions would be distinct advantage
  • Prior experience of dealing with High-Risk Clients/Jurisdictions would be a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; process driven and goal oriented
  • Knowledge of common Microsoft office software
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written), to converse with Mandarin speaking associates and understand documents in Mandarin. Other languages would be advantages.

  • You are a team player willing to support others in achieving our common goals whilst possesses the ability to work independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and quick learner with the ability to adapt to changes with optimism.
