Qualified candidates for this position offer:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews Physician’s orders, care plans, progress notes, and other documentation on a regular basis evaluating progress and growth as well as proactively identifying problems in the nursing care delivery process.  
  • Consults with nursing staff regarding patient care issues, such as assessments, goal setting, problem identification, and interventions. Communicates patient care with family/physicians/staff concerns.
  • Handles family/physician/staff concerns assisting nursing staff in problem-solving regarding patient care issues and identifying any needs need for continuing educational offerings in the area of patient care.  Assists with incident investigations.  
  • Completes admission assessments and follows up on required admission paperwork. Assists and monitors chart audits for completion.  Ensures midnight census is updated on a daily basis.
  • May act as the Infection Preventionist, completing Infection Prevention paperwork and ensuring Infection Prevention Training is completed.
  • Assists with and provides resident care as needed, administers IVs, obtains blood samples and other professional nursing procedures. 
  • Participates in on-call rotation.
  • Coordinates facility and departmental training as assigned.  This may include new hire general orientation, new hire departmental orientation, delivering and monitoring required annual in-service training, and any other ad-hoc training needs identified by leadership such as Quality Assurance, Disease Management, Infection Prevention, and Skills Validations.
  • Assists with coordination and tracking of new hire/annual Mantoux testing, Hepatitis B vaccines, and other vaccination programs as required.
  • Acts as the contact person for pre-certification, re-certification of managed care.
  • Directly supervises nursing staff to include interviewing, new hire orientation, schedule coverage, performance evaluations, and corrective counseling.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the assigned departments within constraints of prescribed budgetary guidelines to include accurate and timely payroll submission, HR, A/P, A/R, and billing procedures.
  • Attends monthly staff meetings and monthly Nursing in-services.
