Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to find a Software Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a Ground program.
This position may be at our Morrisville, NC, or Aurora CO sites. (Compensation varies per location)
This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.
The Software Engineering team supports the program by having broad Software Engineering lifecycle knowledge, with the ability to digest changes and present them to the technical and management teams in concise briefings. The candidate is expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment, and to be highly self-motivated, reporting information to IPT leads and the customer. The individual is expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast-paced environment that continues to grow.
This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4, depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below and the interview assessment.
Basic Qualifications
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI access
Minimum years of experience needed to be considered:
Level 3 (Principal):
5 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's
3 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's
1 Year of relevant experience with a completed Ph.D.
7 Years of relevant experience with a completed associate’s degree
9 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required)
Level 4 (Sr Principal):
8 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's
6 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's
4 Years of relevant experience with a completed Ph.D.
10 Years of relevant experience with a completed associate’s degree
12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required)
Must have above minimum experience on the below:
Experience with the Git version control system
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in an Agile team
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in Python, C, C++ and/or Go
Experience using Kubernetes and Helm charts
Experience working with Docker and Podman
Basic familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence)

Salary Range: $97,500.00 - $153,600.00Salary Range 2: $121,000.00 - $190,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
