Position Summary...

Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

About Team 

We are the Technical Program Management team responsible for delivering technology services for Walmart US. From eCommerce capabilities to a thriving Marketplace and retail services, from Supply chain, marketplace, inventory management to Fulfillment and replenishment, we work with our business, design, and engineering counterparts in enabling the successful planning and delivery of various portfolios that power the Walmart US flywheel.  

What you'll do: 

  • As a Staff Technical Program Manager, your main responsibilities will revolve around managing large software development programs, work closely with architects, engineers, product, design and business leaders to ensure the successful completion of these programs. 
  • You would need to have a deep understanding of software architecture and software design principles.  
  • You will be defining goals, stage gates, critical delivery paths, and key deliverables for large-scale programs that incorporate multiple programs with dependencies across multiple areas of work, timelines, and resource constraints.  
  • You will need to demonstrate influential skills by building strong relationships with stakeholders across Walmart, ensuring alignment on roles, responsibilities, and programs cadences.  
  • Your problem-solving and decision-making skills will be crucial in navigating any setbacks or obstacles that may arise. Overall, as a seasoned professional, your expertise and passion for driving technical projects to success will be invaluable in this role at Walmart Global Tech. 

What you'll bring: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.  
  • Overall 12+ years of technical experience with 8+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager in software delivery within a related industry managing aggressive schedules and significant business impact. 
  • Experienced in system/platform design concepts, architecture, UX design, services, APIs, and technologies. 
  • Strong communicator in both verbal and written forms and are equally adept in communicating upwards, outwards, and downward.
