Our team plays a key role in delivering Octopus Money’s mission. We work together to build a modern, tech-enabled advice engine that makes financial security accessible to everyone. We care about doing meaningful work, moving quickly and learning as we go.

We’re looking for a Paraplanning Manager to join us. You’ll help us evolve our paraplanning function into a modern, high-performing technical centre of excellence and contribute to how we grow and support more people.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys operational leadership, technical innovation, and building scalable systems. You’ll learn fast, work across the business and see the impact of your work every day.

About Octopus Money

🐙 We’re on a mission to become the most recommended financial services business in the UK 🐙

Money shapes every part of life. Yet most people never get the support they need:

  • Half of Brits reach retirement age without enough to live the life they want
  • Financial stress is a leading cause of poor mental health
  • Only 8% of people have access to 1-to-1 financial advice

There’s no shortage of information. What people actually need is clarity, guidance and a plan that makes sense for them.

That’s where we come in.

Octopus Money brings together financial planning, investment expertise and smart technology so people can understand their options and take action with confidence. We help people build a clear plan for their savings, investments and pensions and make investing simple with managed portfolios built by experts. We also support employers who want their teams to feel more secure and in control.

Some people need regulated advice. Others need coaching. Many need both at different points in life. Our service adapts to what each person needs.

We believe everyone deserves money support that works for real life.

The role

As our Paraplanning Manager, your day will involve:

  • Leading & evolving: Coaching and developing our paraplanners into confident, commercially aware technical professionals.
  • AI Integration: Driving the operational integration of AI tools into workflows to ensure responsible, accurate, and auditable advice outputs.
  • Standards & quality: Owning the end-to-end suitability production standards, ensuring technical robustness and consistency across all advice.
  • Operational excellence: Developing MI dashboards for visibility on productivity and quality while improving case throughput and capacity planning.

You’ll work closely with Wealth Planning leadership and the Product/Technology teams, helping us bridge the gap between technical financial planning and scalable, tech-led delivery.

In this role, success will be measured by:

  • Efficiency & scale: Improvement in case throughput and reduction in rework through structured workflows.
  • Technical quality: Maintaining high-quality assurance scores and robust feedback loops across the advice function.
  • Innovation: Successful adoption and measurable impact of AI and automation within the paraplanning journey.

We value people who:

Make every conversation matter
You care about how you make people feel. You communicate clearly, listen well and build trust with customers and colleagues. You want every interaction to move things forward.

Move with urgency and focus
You like getting stuck in. You care about making progress, not perfection. You stay focused on what matters, learn quickly and find smart ways to keep things moving.

Own it
You take responsibility for your work and the outcomes it creates. You’re comfortable solving problems, making decisions and tackling challenges head on. You hold yourself to a high standard and want to make a real impact.

You might be;

  • An experienced Paraplanning Manager or Technical Manager ready to modernise a function
  • A senior paraplanner who has already led transformation initiatives
  • Someone who has worked in a tech-enabled advice firm and understands scalable models

You’ll likely bring:

  • Strong technical financial planning knowledge
  • Experience leading paraplanning or technical teams
  • Confidence working with cashflow modelling and suitability frameworks
  • A track record of improving process efficiency and quality standards
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI and workflow automation
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, iterative environment
  • Most importantly, you’ll care about building something better.

The interview process

Our interview process typically includes:

  • An intro call with our talent team
  • A competency-based interview with the hiring manager
  • A panel interview with a short task presentation
  • A conversation focused on how you work and what you value with the COO and then CEO

We’ll keep it simple and respectful of your time, and you’ll meet the people you’ll actually work with. Our average process takes around four weeks but we’ll always work around your availability.

What’s in it for you

Base salary: £65,000-£80,000 depending on experience + benefits

We want people to grow here, to feel supported and to feel proud of the impact they make.

You’ll get:

  • Hybrid working with 2 days at home each week (Monday and Friday)
  • 18 days a year working from anywhere (for non regulated roles)
  • Share incentive plan - the shares you buy in Octopus Group are matched at 1.5 times. You read that right, for every share you buy, Octopus gives you 1.5 extra
  • Team bonus for non-commission based roles
  • Company pension
  • Private medical insurance
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Birthday day off
  • A supportive team who care about what they do
  • The chance to help people improve their lives

Please note, as a regulated business we are required to run background checks for all employees which covers adverse financial and unspent convictions. These will only take place upon a successful job offer.
