Job Description​

Saint Luke’s is seeking a Full-Time Vascular Tech Specialist (Day Shift) - CVOR at Saint Luke's Hospital (4401 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO).

Position Details:

  • Shift Day Hours: 4 – 10 hour days per week (6:45am-5:15pm & Days of Operation are Mon-Fri)
  • Call - 30 min response time for call - required to take call on weekday evenings and weekends
  • Approximately 7-15 days of call per month
  • CVOR
  • Cardiac & Vascular surgeons

Experience:

  • 2 years of applicable experience (preferred)
  • ARRT (preferred)
  • Radiology Certification (preferred)
  • IR/Cath Lab and catheter-based procedures experience - willing to train

Within the organizational structure of the Operating Room, assists in the delivery of direct primary care to the patient experiencing vascular interventional procedures.  The vascular specialist will assist the surgeon elbow to elbow passing instruments, managing wires, catheters & balloons. Incumbents in this position assist physicians by implementing and performing vascular surgery plan of care using standards of A.O.R.N. aseptic technique peripheral vascular anatomy and physiology radiographic imaging technique and principles of vascular intervention technology.

  • Individualizes and modifies care according to the patient’s needs

  • Collaborates with other healthcare employees to enhance the provision of patient care

  • Assumes a multi-skilled role, performing clinical and surgical functions

  • Ensures appropriate supplies have been obtained for all surgical procedures performed

  • Obtains necessary sterile instrumentation prior to procedures and hands-off contaminated instrumentation to decontamination with appropriate communication following procedures

  • Participates in at least two education or training programs annually or serves as a preceptor e.g., mentoring, teaching peers, department in-service 

  • Supports quality and change projects

  • Participates in department level meetings
