Your New Role…

The Manager of Technical & Physical Security (T&PS) for New York will work collaboratively with Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) Workplace Tech, other T&PS regional members, and WBD Global Security operational leadership to manage and recommend improvements in the development and implementation of electronic security systems. The Manager of T&PS will gather operational requirements and feedback from WBD Eastern Region stakeholders, and work with the WBDGS Eastern Region VP and WBD Workplace Tech to align strategy with the execution of projects across the WBD enterprise. The aim is to recommend cost-effective and innovative technical solutions. The Manager of T&PS will also recommend and oversee the implementation of T&PS Electronic Security Systems standards, and may act as the WBD New York project manager.

Your Role Accountabilities…

Responsible for managing Electronic Security Systems (ESS) projects in New York (and other locations associated with this hub location) of WBDGS. The area includes New York, Chicago, Troy, Washington DC, Canada, and other locations as requested.

Responsible for recommending processes and procedures related to security call centers, operations centers, domains, asset classification systems, electronic security system acquisition, development, maintenance, program models, and reporting tools. The Manager of T&PS collaborates with the Vice President of the Eastern Region, regional T&PS representatives, WBD Eastern Region stakeholders, and WBD Workplace Tech.

Monitors WBDGS physical security policies, programs, or procedures to ensure compliance with internal WBDGS physical security policies, licensing requirements, or applicable corporate security requirements, policies, and directives. May conduct physical security assessments of properties to ensure compliance with WBDGS physical and technical security policies and regulations. The Manager of T&PS also collects and analyzes physical security data to determine technical security needs, technical security program goals, or program accomplishments.

Under the supervision and directive of the WBDGS Eastern Region Vice President, the Manager of T&PS manages personnel (proprietary and non-proprietary) responsible for maintenance and repair of electronic security systems. They develop processes and procedures to minimize risks and perform hands-on electronic security systems deployment and/or repair work where required.

Utilizing standards and best practices, the Manager of T&PS is responsible for providing design and implementation input for electronic security systems throughout WBD Eastern Region and other locations as requested/required. They act as a liaison to field operations and WBD Global Real Estate in the areas of design and implementation of electronic security systems.

Responsible for processing billing invoices for electronic security systems and fire life safety activities/repairs within the WBD Eastern Region area of responsibility as well as the development of an efficient and safe operation of the organization's physical security operations.

Coordinates and records all electronic security system maintenance, including preventive and corrective measures. Maintain records and perform inspections as required by law and assist with confidential information related to investigations in conjunction with the People and Culture or Labor Relations Departments.

                                                                                                                                               

The Manager of T&PS manages the maintenance of the emergency duress systems (Panic alarm system and Riot switch program) and establishes liaison and fosters relationships with external building Security Management within the WBD Eastern Region for technical issues and project coordination.

The Manager of T&PS manages Regional Security Operations Center personnel and assists the Sr. Director of Global Security Intelligence and Investigations in the supervision of the Eastern-based Security Intelligence and Investigation Specialists.  They also manage WBDGS internal electronic peripherals and equipment and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • 5+ years of experience in multi-disciplinary electronic security systems project management, design, integration, and maintenance.  

  • Understanding of IT networking, computer virtualization, cloud services, API/SDK Connectivity, and databases.  

  • Understanding of current/legacy communications protocols utilized with security systems.  

  • Ability to troubleshoot security systems.  

  • Understanding of the role of analytics as applied to physical security systems.  

  • Experience with command-and-control systems such as Physical Security Information Management (PSIM).    

  • Knowledge in Software CCURE 9000.

  • Knowledge in Genetec Security Center.

  • Knowledge in CNL IP Security Center.
    5+ years of progressive managerial experience of personnel to include third party contractors.

  • Strong working knowledge of integrated electronic security systems technology and operations is required.    

  • Working knowledge of the facility construction (e.g., location of all fire suppression equipment, stairways, elevator, HVAC, and mechanical systems operation) or ability to learn.  

  • Knowledge of International Building Code and National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code NFPA 72. 

  • 5+ years of systems security support in the public and/or private sector.  

  • Ability to read and interpret design package drawings and details for accuracy and functionality.
        

 EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of working experience in a Technical Field preferably IT or Computer Science Related.
     
PREFERRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSING, OR CERTIFICATION (i.e., not required)
Certified Protection Professional CPP – (ASIS certification)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional CISSP – International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium.
Physical Security Professional PSP – Preferred (ASIS certification)
Program Management Professional PMP or PGMP – Project Management Institute (PMI)
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Cybersecurity.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $83,090.00 - $154,310.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
