Your Opportunity

Coordinates all efforts regarding the scheduling and dispatching of feed to company and contract farms. Supervises Loadout Logistics staff schedules  and performance; collaborates with Transportation Supervisor. 

Responsibilities

  • Provides  and  facilitates excellent customer service while promoting team concept among employees and takes an active role in quality performance. Collaborate with Placement and Marketing Coordinators to ensure that feed is delivered appropriately and timely to sites.  

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of initial feed to all sites 

  • Respond to and make necessary modifications in scheduling and delivery of feed to sites. 

  • Monitors Final Feed module and makes necessary adjustments 

  • Utilizes and trains others in the routing tool, Beta Raven, Samsara, MB Feed, and Enterprise One  

  • Monitors feed accuracy  

  • Monitors and adjusts feed plans as necessary 

  • Implement and train others on Max90K 

  • Train others to and ensure compliance of VFD process in coordination with veterinarians/mills 

  • Initiate lot setup with feed plan application 

  • Supervises and trains the Feed Logistics Specialist 

  • Provide data  for  and train individual responsible  for the reporting of  weekly KPIs  and the optimization of the feed recovery process. 

  • Responsible for the coordination of and assign processing of all Pick-ups and Transfers. 

  • Prepares and implements Standard Operating Procedures/instructions in the performance of all areas for which he/she is responsible. 

  • Communicate openly and effectively with the Mill Manager, Transportation/Night and Shift Supervisors, Truck Maintenance Coordinator and Accounting 

  • Reviews  all open  orders on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to verify confirmations are complete 

  • Oversees and troubleshoots the preparation of daily reports to verify Beta Raven Loadout and MB Feed Load match on lbs. 

  • Maintain customer service within direct reports and report any issues to direct supervisor. 

  • Sets  all goals, objectives and productivity measurements set forth in  feed coordination and logistics/customer service. 

  • Performs all reporting functions in MB feed and other duties assigned by the Supervisor 

  • Follows Company and OSHA safety standards

  • Must understand that Smithfield HPD is a producer of high-quality pork for human consumption 

  • Ensures compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield subscribes. 

  • Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.

  • Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year in current position

  • Completes daily duties in a manner that maintains compliance and seeks out opportunities for improvement within the Smithfield ISO22000 Feed Safety and Quality program

  • Pre-employment and random drug screening participant

  • Current Driver’s License and acceptable driving record to drive company vehicle

  • Ability to work in high stress, fast paced environment

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Microsoft Office skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong attention to detail  

  • Knowledge of current Feed Ordering system preferred.

  • Knowledge of farm locations preferred.

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
