The Opportunity:

CACI is looking for a Cloud Engineer, to support our customer to provide a common set of required EIT services across 187 bases to implement a consistent, high-quality experience for users across all mission environments and enable USAF to transition focus from network operations to mission operations.

 As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, planning and implementing the DAF Azure IaaS and PaaS solution leveraging a range of Azure technologies and services. You will be responsible for establishing and implementing best practice configurations that optimize the virtual infrastructure, network, storage, and overall environment.

You will work in a team environment, providing solutions to technical issues related to cloud networking, computing, and security. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving problems, performing network maintenance and operations, and ensuring that clients are satisfied with their services. You will also be responsible for documenting and communicating technical information to clients, as well as collaborating with other team members to develop and implement new solutions.

You will work with your manager to understand requirements, priorities, and objectives to ensure work supports the larger capabilities and direction of the overall solution. This includes participation in Planning, Backlog refinement and prioritization, and Retrospectives.  You will participate in the full life cycle of activities including deployment and validation efforts to ensure product success and will follow all established processes and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Architecture Design considerations: Design and architect Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions that align with the organization's goals and requirements. This includes hardware and software components, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Design and Implement Role Based Access Controls (RBAC) against Azure resources. Design and deploy Office365 Solution elements integrated with an existing Azure production environment. This entails working with the entire Microsoft365 software services (mail, sharepoint\teams, intune, office, ect.) Work on security hardening for Azure solutions, develop repeatable solutions via Azure automation, and assist with powershell, python, and other automation development activities within Azure\Microsoft365.
  • Security: Implement and maintain security best practices within Azure for the hardening of Azure assets. Work with DAF Information System Security Officers (ISSO) on Azure compliance with DOD regulations and remediate identified findings
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor performance, identify potential issues, and recommend and implement solutions following standard release processes. Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost-effectiveness, performance, and scalability. Identify and address performance bottlenecks and resource utilization issues.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts and templates to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes. Implement concepts of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and system administrators, to support application development and deployment.
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation of architectures, configurations, and operational procedures. Create and manage work through Jira, or a jira-like-process.
  • Support: Provision, install, configure, and investigate incidents on multiple network device types on both public and private VM and hardware infrastructures.
  • Travel: You will be asked to attend meetings and obtain system credentials. This will include both virtual and possibly some brief travel.

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • US Citizenship required
  • Active Secret clearance
  • 15+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience).
  • 7+ years direct experience in cloud networking or a related role, preferably in a large-scale cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience setting up and managing cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure
  • Experience integrating, securing, and understanding the following Microsoft platform services (both in Windows OS and in Azure Cloud):  Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), Windows AD-integrated PKI, Single Sign On (SSO) implementation
  • Experience in handling logs and metrics at a high scale
  • Experience with Azure, Virtualization, Windows Servers, M365, Networks, Storage and Active Directory
  • Hands on cloud migration experience
  • Experience with securing systems by following STIGs, best practices, and government/compliance requirements (such as NIST 800-53, FISMA, FEDRAMP), and negotiating/working-with IA personnel to arrive at sensible and effective solutions
  • Experience with systems administration in Linux environments (RHCE equivalence) or Windows Server environments.
  • Hands-on experience creating, analyzing, and automating Linux scripts (Python, Command, Bash, C, Ansible)
  • System admin level understanding of Windows server/ADFS environments
  • Experience with VMWare (implementing, managing, configuring)
  • Experience with log management, network firewalls, and testing. Demonstrated experience tracking down root cause of a service/application failure using logs and CLI-based tools.
  • Azure certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work well under pressure

Desired: 

  • One of the following certifications: Azure DevOps Engineering Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate 
  • 2+ years’ recent (within the past 3 years) cumulative experience with Azure Cloud Computing.
  • Current certifications for CISSP, CCNA, CCNP

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$114,600-$252,100
