What You’ll Do

The Office Coordinator is responsible for a positive patient experience through enhanced clear, respectful, and effective communication throughout Freeman Health System by managing clinical clerical activities and staff within the assigned area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • One to two years' experience in a physician's office or hospital department preferred.

  • AHA Family and Friends within 30 days.

  • People-oriented

  • Proactive in problem solving.

  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and listening.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, and Teams, and other computer skills

  • Ability to be flexible, prioritize, and complete assignments.

  • Must have excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to follow procedures with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve department performance and take action to implement ideas.

  • Ability to participate effectively as a team member by supporting change, decisions, and other staff, and by managing conflict appropriately.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in various situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure office processes are compliant with state and federal regulatory activities, including, but not limited to, HIPAA, and all applicable health system regulations.

  • Manage clinic scheduling and staffing.

  • Ensure office and hospital charges and denials are processed daily.

  • Participate in employee relations activities.

  • Ensure appropriate payment collections.

  • Train, coach and develop staff.

  • Monitor ordering, usage and inventory of supplies and resources.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
